Licensing

You've tagged some of my images and says file's are missing evidence of permission. But i think you haven't read the surces because there's everithing there, it's a public image. So you should untagged them. Daianath (talk) - 07 January, 2011

There is no permission given to re-license the image under a license permitted on commons. Please, see COM:LICENSING. Thank you, MorganKevinJ(talk) 05:30, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Read more about licensing

I saw you tagged a couple of my contributions for speedy deletion, If you are new to wikimedia, then first read around, or else I should report for vandalism, the licensing page explicitly mentions the parties / events area of the website, if you are such a nerd then go through the TOC of the website completely.

If you are still not satisfied I suggest you taking up the matter in appropriate discussion page instead of vandalising around.

Imagem

Mestre Ginko (Fale Comigo) 06:06, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

PandaDog

Why is my upload being deleted? I just Made it to post on my Wiki user page. If it really needs to be deleted I will do it myself. Please respond. Thank you 98.234.217.77 17:45, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I have uploaded a copy of the image to wikipedia and fixed your user page to link to the local copy of the file. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions, MorganKevinJ(talk) 18:52, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I saw the photo last evening when I was posting a speedy notice for a nonsense article on Wikipedia, but didn't have time to check the image. Today I quickly found the images of the dog and panda which the user cut and pasted together on a red background. I've tagged both the commons and Wikipedia versions as copyvio speedy deletions. Concerning File:The Blue Horse poster.jpg. Apologies for the confusion. Aparently I was not logged in when I placed the template. -- Best regards, Taketa (talk) 22:00, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for clearing that up. MorganKevinJ(talk) 23:39, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

File:Poster on Bombay Street, Belfast.jpg

Hi. I'm not sure why this has been tagged as a copyright violation. Is it because I've cropped the picture? Asarlaí (talk) 04:47, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Nevermind, I see it's because it's a poster. Would I be able to upload it to Wikipedia as fair use instead? Asarlaí (talk) 04:57, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

See en:Wikipedia:Fair_use_rationale_guideline MorganKevinJ(talk) 05:20, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

File:Niamh Fahey.jpg

Hi, I rather stupidly titled this picture Niamh Fahey when it is of Fahey's teammate Yvonne Tracy. Please could you amend the title for me? Apologies, Clavdia chauchat (talk) 15:06, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

I am not a filemover so I tagged it using the rename template. MorganKevinJ(talk) 16:21, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

File:Tahrir Square during Friday of Departure.png

Please check this out. you will see that the author has released the image under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Generic license. -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 07:05, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

The caption of the image mentions that it was photographed by someone other then the flicker account owner. The permission must come from the photographer. MorganKevinJ(talk) 07:29, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
So if he is using it with the same permission she gave him. you have to understand that many people have been sleeping in Tahrir Square and have been giving there picture to other protesters to upload. You can ask ramy himself. I have spoken to him before via my flickr account. Please reply on my talk page -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 15:07, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

"No FOP in Russia" I'm not understand. Eugenio Hansen, OFS (talk) 20:41, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

FOP limits

Please note that there are limits to Freedom of Panorama as I note in this DR you filed. FOP expires 70 years after the death of the architect of a building or structure...which is why you can have pictures of old 150+ year old buildings in the former Soviet states on Commons. The architects are already dead for 70 years. Its the same with the Red Square building or the Eiffel Tower in France (even though France has no FOP for buildings) since Gustav Eiffel died in 1923 or 88 years ago which is more than 70 years ago. Hope you know this. An Admin pointed this out to me once. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 02:23, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will be more careful when nominating files for deletion. MorganKevinJ(talk) 04:26, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
  •  Comment: Thank You for reading my message. This is a case where you should not have filed a DR...on a 17th century church since the architect certainly died more than 70 years ago. Best regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:38, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Centrale nucléaire du Bugey et champ de tournesol.jpg, Speed deletion

I don't agree with this decision. This picture is from here on flickr and owns explicitly this licence.
The speed deletion was decided because the same picture was found at this url ?
Is it a sufficient justification to delete a picture explicitly shared by his author, on flickr ?
--Agamitsudo (talk) 09:58, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Sometimes users upload photos to flicker that they found elsewhere on the Internet. In this case I overlooked the fact that the non-flicker version was lower resolution than the flicker version. MorganKevinJ(talk) 16:46, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Sorry Morgankevinj I think you've got this one wrong it clearly states it is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Generic. The only reason it didn't get FlickreviewR is because I rotated it before it got reviewed.Baldboris99 01:42, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

That was not the reason. See Commons:Derivative works MorganKevinJ(talk) 01:44, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
What is the reason then? Baldboris99 01:49, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
"Legally, most toys are art. It is the same thing whether you take a picture of a sculpture or a picture of Darth Vader. Both are copyrighted; in both cases, the copyright of the photograph does not void the original copyright, and in both cases you will need the permission of the original creator. You cannot upload pictures of a sculpture by Picasso, and you can't upload photographs of Mickey Mouse or Pokémon figures." Commons:Derivative works. MorganKevinJ(talk) 01:54, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Well all of these images need to be deleted then Category:Olympic mascots Baldboris99 02:07, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
