User talk:Moreschi~commonswiki
Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki - it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Commons is a much more mellow place than en:wp, and we like to try to keep it that way. Some of your comments in the referenced RfA are not helping the quest for mellow. Please keep that in mind if you would be so kind. ++Lar: t/c 16:07, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- You are certainly correct - but I wasn't trying to be mellow, old chum. I'm still bloody pissed off that someone would actually think of badmouthing me at commons instead of taking the matter up with me at enwiki...anyway, it hardly matters now. Storm in teacup, soon blow over. Cheerio! Moreschi 22:14, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- You can be upset, and I think you have grounds for it, but please be upset in a mellow way. :) It's de rigeur and it would be greatly appreciated. Don't let that stop you from speaking out. Thanks. ++Lar: t/c 04:58, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
A script in your user namespace may stop working in February 2012
Hi Moreschi,
I found the deprecated function akeytt
somewhere in your user-namespace, e.g. Special:MyPage/monobook.js, . It is likely that this will cause JavaScript errors after Commons is updated to MediaWiki 1.19 in February. You can simply remove this function-call as it currently does nothing. If you have a copy of user-messages in your script, you may remove it and instead activate User Messages in your preferences. Please also note that addLink is now natively supported by mw.util.addPortletLink. Thank you.

Your account will be renamed
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Moreschi. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Moreschi~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
