Hi Moalrifa! I was patrolling recently uploaded images when I came across this foundation logo. Unfortunately, we won't be able to keep it. :\ I also noticed that you've uploaded a few images before that have been deleted because of copyright issues. Copyright stuff can be tricky to understand. It's easier to understand if it's broken down. The first thing to remember is that Commons only keeps images that are copyright licensed by the original author (which can be a photographer or graphic designer or artist, and in some cases the company that commissioned the work) in such a way that anyone can copy, publish, and/or modify the image in any way they want. If it's not licensed this way, we have to written permission from the copyright holder. Second, most images found online, whether they are logos or photos, are fully copyright protected (it doesn't have to have a little copyright mark on it to be protected). Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Your account will be renamed

Hello,

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools.
