Deleted Images
Hi Dferg,
I read on my user talk page that you have deleted the images I have uploaded. Because I'm pretty new here and don't know how this works here yet, I wanted to ask if you could help me with this problem: Currently I'm working for KTM in Austria, and I got the order to update the German Wikipedia article about KTM. I was told to take the pictures I would need from the website www.ktmimages.com, and there is a note which says that the picture would be copyright free when mentioning photographer. Another user who edited the KTM-article also took a picture from this website: KTM_1190_RC8. I now wanted to ask if I still need to contact the photographer and ask him to send the permission to Wikipedia, or if the note on this website would be enough and, if this is the case, what would be the best way to upload these files.

- Hello Coblac,
- I have deleted the images you have uploaded because they do not fit yet withing our licensing policy. I saw that on the images you added a note saying "copyright free when mentioning photographer". Despite that, I reviewed the site looking for such a note and what I've found a legal notice saying that all the content of the webpage is protected under copyright and trademark.
- Wikimedia Commons is a free repository, that means that we only accept freely licensed images (including comercial usage). Actually, per the above findings, those images are not freely licensed and thus, they can't be uploaded here without the consent of the copyright holders of the images. If the copyright holders of the images wants to freely license some of the images (including for comercial purposes) they can do so. For that please see the instructions at Commons:OTRS and linked pages.If you obtain permission from the copyright holders or that note exists, the images can be easily restored.
