Thank you

[edit]

I'm a bit confused. The logo for the tournament is the official logo. I've received the logo from john@squashengine.com the owner and president. I made a mistake by saying I got it off the website. How can we resolve this as the old image was long out of date. Brad — Preceding unsigned comment added by ParticularNYC (talk • contribs) 01:35, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If the copyright holder of the logo wants to release it under a free license that Commons accepts, then they and you should follow the instructions given in Commons:OTRS#Licensing images: when do I contact OTRS?. Basically, the copyright holder will be agreeing to allow anyone anywhere in the world to download the version you uploaded at anytime for any for any purpose, including commercial and derivative uses. If the copyright holder doesn't want to do this, then I suggest you upload the file to English Wikipedia locally as en:Wikipedia:Non-free content. If you're not sure how to do that, you can ask for assistance at en:Wikipedia:Files for upload. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:35, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rhianna.jpg — Sky Blossom Poster

[edit]

Hi there, Wondering how I can get this file approved to use on the "Sky Blossom" article page? My understanding was that movie posters are generally considered fair use. Is there something different about this file in particular? Do I need to get permission from the filmmakers? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.5.127.20 (talk) 09:37, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Commons doesn’t accept any fair use content as explained in Commons:Fair use; so, you will need to get the copyright holder’s consent as explained in Commons:OTRS#If you are NOT the copyright holder. — Marchjuly (talk) 10:46, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
