Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

DjVu/PDF moves

When works are transcribed moving the files becomes problematic at the WS. We would be looking to move both the file and the Index: and Page: pages all together not just the file. Happy to help to get it done if it needs doing, though have rejected the moves at this time. If you are wanting something at this end alone, do feel that you can create a redirect here to the file, and then update the description.  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:36, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

I am renaming Indexes and all the related pages on wikisource after file is renamed on commons; I find it easier to rename up to a dozen of pages than keep incorrect index name referred by a hundred of pages as it is also affects search results. I can do all renaming on the wikisource before asking to rename a file here, is it something that will help rename those files? --Madvin (talk) 20:16, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

Generally it is something that you would get an administrator at the wikisource to do, as they can move all pages as a slab and without a redirect. We can do it before or after, I just need to know that it is going to occur. The general rule for the WSes is don't rename unless you really have to, and always grab an admin. [If you don't have an admin handy for the WS, then let me know as I have admin rights for most of the WSes so can just jump in and do it, though not without having local admins asked.]  — billinghurst sDrewth 13:41, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

Declined djvu move for File:Політичні пісні украjнського народу XVIII-XIX ст. (1883).djvu at this time as we need to fix things at ukWS first. I also see a configuration problem that makes these moves difficult, and I would like to get that fixed first to make these fixes easier at ukWS.  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:50, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

{{Own}} and Upload Wizard

You have said in COM:UDR:

Some thoughts regarding {{Own}} — when uploading files, wizard asks if the file itself was created by uploader, so people use {{Own}} because they created a pdf file from a series of images of a book that written by some person, scanned by some other person, and taken from some archive which I usually put into Source field. --Madvin (talk) 22:00, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

Well, if one scans this book into a PDF do they also think that they are the author and copyright holder? If no, what is the difference? How would you suggest to fix the information for uploaders to be more clear and still compact? I share your thoughts that this may need fixing, but I have no idea: how to fix this? Maybe upload wizard should ask something like "Are you the author of the work?" and not "Here's {{Own}} template if you created the file you're uploading." --Madvin (talk) 11:33, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

ВВР УРСР

Я дивлюся, ти завантажив ВВР після 1952 року. А ти впевнений, що вони вільні? Відповідно до п.14 ст. 6 закону про авторське право і суміжні права збірки творів захищаються авторським правом. Тут нема "за умови що вони є результатом творчої діяльності за добором або упорядкуванням змісту". Включалося все що було дозволено до друку, по датам. -- Madvin (talk) 12:06, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
