Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content: images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. File:Bizerta1918.jpg seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Photo from my personal collection. I personally scanned the photo and posted it. I personally agreed to the free use of the photograph, since it is rare and historians need such photographs. Why was the photo deleted?? MBlinoff (talk) 08:41, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Just because you scanned it, does not mean you hold the copyright. Who owns the photo, and who took the photo in the first place? Did you inherit it from a family member? Applodion (talk) 22:15, 29 May 2024 (UTC)

It is unknown who took this photo. Almost all photographers were killed in 1926-1929 and 1945-1947. This and other photographs were given to me by members of Nechaev’s Detachment, some who survived, some who emigrated from Shanghai through the island of Tubabao to the United States in 1949. In the 90s they gave me their photographs. According to international laws, I, as the owner of the photographs, am also the owner of the copyright for the publication. these photographs.
