Dear Admin Lymantria,

I remember mentioning on October 31, 2017 to you that it would be a pity if this image was deleted since it was heavily used. Well this image was deleted and then the source was found and the image restored again. But if you know where the image was used, please feel free to add it on Wikipedia. I remember it was more than just one webpage and this was one of them but there were other pages too. It is indeed a miracle that you found this image's source. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 01:53, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I restored it in some obvious pages. Lymantria (talk) 08:48, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unmarked Mushroom images

Dear Lymantria,

If you have time, please consider marking some Mushroom Observer images here uploaded by Sasata long ago. I marked many...but there are many more. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 07:29, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Final request of 2017

Dear Lymantria,

This is an old 2006 image original and (2012 crop) image below but the license link appears to have disappeared. But it is a Dutch website so you may have better luck verifying if it is free....than me. Its a heavily used image.

Have a Happy New Year for 2018. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 01:22, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Images DRs from December 22 Here

Dear Lymantria,

Most of the DR's on this user's talkpage above from December 22 can be closed as delete but where an image is used, I suggested some replacements if possible. I don't know if you deal with DR's but the uploader has not been active on Commons since September 2016. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:36, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I will look into it, but probably not today - did one already. Lymantria (talk) 11:53, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

These 3 images from the Surinamese state

Do you know the license for these 2 images. From the Google translation, the source doesn't seem to say the images are actually PD. Secondly, I can't find the image source for the second image. The website is in Dutch.

Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:31, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Images are free, but not cc0. I corrected and marked them. Lymantria (talk) 18:37, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know what to do with this image which was uploaded long ago from a cc by 3.0 website and the image no longer exists there. Do I tag it as no source? The uploader is familiar. Internet archive does not work with the source link. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 00:39, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure about this. Note this version. The author clearly is the author of the website. That makes that previous publication there is more than likely. Still, not certain and checked. Personally I would give it benefit of the doubt, but I would not dare mark it. Lymantria (talk) 15:56, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
File:Anabolia nervosa.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Dear Lymantria,

2 images for review?

Dear Lymantria,

I have been marking many many unmarked MO images today and I decided to upload these 2 images below because the only original image in its category from 2011 is quite low resolution for 2017/2018. Can you mark these 2 images please?

Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 02:16, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You note

Dear Lymantria,

Thank you for reviewing those images which I uploaded. I thought that you were busy this weekend. I may have 2 last ones later and then I am finished with MO. As for this DR can all uses of the image under DR be replaced with the image I susggested. Sadly...it was never reviewed until many years later. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:35, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

4 final images from MO

Dear Lymantria,

Can you kindly mark these 4 images from MO. I am definitely finished with uploading images of mushrooms and fungi that don't exist on Commons.

This is the last batch. Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:58, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

6 images from MO?

Dear Lymantria,

Could you mark these 5 images from MO please? I was going to stop but after I checked on Commons, I saw that some of these mushroom species don't even exist or only have 1 image in their category on Wikicommons like this case.

PS: Its very strange. One user had a flickr account and on his flickr account all his images were ARR but on MO, they were CC BY SA 3.0. I guess he did not understand copyright well. But I did not upload any images from that MO account. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 02:24, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A difference between licenses at Flickr and MO is not that strange. Often an uploader thinks differently later when uploading to the other platform. Or perhaps does not understand all. Marked the (6) images. Kind regards, Lymantria (talk) 06:43, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you can, please mark these 3 images of mushrooms which Commons also does Not have.

These are the last mushrooms. I promise. Thank You for your help, --Leoboudv (talk) 04:37, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done You forgot to license the latter two... I repaired that. Lymantria (talk) 08:19, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • My apologies. Uploading images from MO can take a lot of time. That is why I have now stopped uploading images from MO. The only mushroom I would be happy to get an image for is for this article but there are few images and they are not free at either flickr or MO sadly. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:18, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help on these 3 images and on creating a category

Dear Lymantria,

Can you help first mark these images?

Secondly, do you know how to create a category on Commons for Acarospora thelococcoides? I just typed in a blank category for it in the first 2 photos. Finally, if possible please put the first and top rated Acarospora thelococcoides image in use on wikipedia. There is already an existing English wikipedia and Swedish wikipedia article for it...and this photo is rated one of the top rated photos of Mushroom Observer. BUT, there was NO image of this Lichen on Commons. The third image of a Xylaria is also a top rated image but Commons has no category on it and MycoBank calls its name Illegitimate but there is a youtube video on it. One or Two images is better than no image. Perhaps there is no need to create a special category for the third and fourth image as it is under Xylaria. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 01:59, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Leoboudv, Creating a species category if a genus category exists can be done quite basicly by just creating a category Category:Acarospora thelococcoides, with as content [[Category:Acarospora|thelococcoides]]. I created it for you and added a taxonavigation template, but the basic simple category will do. Concerning Xylaria tentaculata and Mycobank, I saw no problem here. The species does not have a wikipedia page, I created an item at Wikidata. Lymantria (talk) 06:58, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank You Lymantria. I am not a taxidermist by nature so I did not want to create a category. Since there were no images of these species wikicommons, I decided to upload them here. It is good to know the species is legitimate. PS: If you can help, please review these 3 final images. I have no more....I can promise you this.

8 Final images

Dear Admin Lymantria,

I decided to do a quick final check of Common's images and noticed that there were No Lecanora subpallens and No Lecanora rubicunda images while the Lecanora albella images were all low resolution photos. So, I uploaded some images for these species here plus 2 extra ones for 2 other species. I hope you won't mind marking them. I had to create a few new categories for some missing Lecanora species.

Kind Regards...and this time it is final. Please mark the 8 images. I intend to spend February on something else than mushrooms or lichens. --Leoboudv (talk) 06:29, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done Of course. And I am well aware that you have marked hundreds of my uploads. Thank you. Lymantria (talk) 06:38, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for your help. At MO, the default license is CC BY SA 3.0 (see Pt #3 under 'Concepts Glossary' on 'License'), but the professional photographers now use CC BY NC SA 3.0. In contrast, in flickr the default license is always ARR...and some users there don't even know how to change a license without help from me. So, its very hard to get any images licensed freely sometimes. Cheers, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:34, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • So be it. I can understand the professional photographers, who have to make a living and don't like to see their images used by others to make money. We can't complain having so many free images here on commons. Lymantria (talk) 09:57, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

8 Images

Dear Admin Lymantria, Can you mark these 8 separate images below please?

Commons also don't have these Inoybe mushroom species.

Hello Lymantria,

Your image of the complete rectangle was used at w:Ternary operation on 30 June. At that time a point was labelled G which is now Q. Wiki Loves Monuments France 2019

Bonjour,

Your 4 Bold images

I don't see any photos at the source given for these 4 Bold images that you uploaded.

But I saw the images at the sources for File:Lithophane pertorrida 01.jpg and File:Lithophane pertorrida 06.jpg though. Maybe Bold is having a temporary issue but if so I would not have been able to see 1 and 6 too. The link source for 2, 3, 4 and 5 says 'Specimen Images: N/A' Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 08:12, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Leoboudv, This is due to a copy-paste error at my side. Thank you for noticing and I have corrected the links. Lymantria (talk) 12:01, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This image has a wrong source. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 20:16, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected, thank you. Lymantria (talk) 20:31, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This Dr

Thanks for your reply on the DR Lymantria. Fortunately it was resolved and the images are free. TechCrunch hired the photographer for their flickr images as Getty has no flickr account. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 19:45, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Luckily it is :). Lymantria (talk) 20:23, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This image from calphotos is not free, I think. I wonder if there are any others which are unfree on Commons. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 11:29, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I started a DR on this one. Perhaps I could have deleted it as copyvio right away. But there is no hurry IMHO. Yes, there may be more of them. I marked one, many have an OTRS-ticket, and will perhaps dive into the other ones later. Lymantria (talk) 17:30, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This DR

Help

Dear Admin Lymantria,

As an Admin, could you please REPLACE all uses of this image under DR File:Calyptella longipes 29718.jpg that never passed review by Noah Siegel (who deleted the image) with this image below that I persuaded the flickr license owner to change the license freely:

Please help Lymantria. Kind Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 23:21, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vacation

Dear Lymantria,

I will be on a short vacation from this Wednesday until Sunday visiting my aunt. I may have access to a computer--or not. I don't know. If you need help, please ask Christian Ferrer to review your images. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 07:51, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Lymantria,

This is an unfree image. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 19:24, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, overlooked that (there are more of them among the collection). Too bad. Thank you for noticing. Lymantria (talk) 19:30, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is not good that I review all his images. Better to have a single reviewer...on occasion. Take care in Europe. Best, Fabian --Leoboudv (talk) 19:35, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Another reviewer also?

Dear Lymantria,

Please feel free to ask another reviewer to review your some of uploads such as Christian Ferrer. My father and I have been sick the past few days and I cannot review 60+ images you uploaded. Its too much for me. I had to take my father to hospital recently and he is 70+ years. He had an injured hand and was in a lot of pain. Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:26, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Fabian, That's sad news about your father. Please take good care of him. Don't worry if you will not have opportunity to review all my uploads. Indeed I do upload more these days than I do usually. Thank you. Kind regards, Lymantria (talk) 09:41, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment: Thank You Lymantria. With covid-19, I cannot get regular blood work tests done right now in Canada though I am likely normal as all my previous doctor's ordered blood tests every year come out normal. Canada is in better shape than the US in controlling the c-19 virus. I think that Christian Ferrer and I have now reviewed your uploaded images. As for my father, he was lucky, with c-19, the ER was not busy on Sunday at our local hospital. And he does not need an operation, only Tylenol. If it was in normal times, he would wait 6-7 hours to see a doctor at ER on a Sunday. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 08:34, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment: The Washington Post is giving free coverage for all COVID related articles on their website and according to this link, more than 200,000 people died today (Saturday) of this virus sadly. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 18:50, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • The national health institute gives daily updates here. Numbers are difficult to interpret. There are in our country probably a lot more COVID deaths than the numbers state. So even 200,000 may be a lot less than in reality. Difficult times. Kind regards, Lymantria (talk) 21:11, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes indeed. The UK total death list only include those who died in hospitals of c-19 and not in senior care home facilities. In Canada, many of the victims are seniors in care homes...but they are listed as c-19 victims. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 00:57, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bromeliad Mosquito (Wyeomyia mitchellii)

Hi Lymantria, I was going to use the image at File:Wyeomyia mitchellii.jpg, but I am not sure if it is correctly labeled. The file description says it is Limatus durhamii, which is a different species and not listed anywhere else as a synonym for Wyeomyia mitchellii. When comparing the original image that the file links to on BOLDSYSTEMS, the image is not the same as the one on the BOLDSYSTEMS taxon page, although the taxon page image may have since been updated after it was first used on the Wikipedia Commons file information page. Nor does the image appear to be the same one as any used on the BOLDSYSTEMS entry for Limatus durhamii either. Can you confirm the identification and origin of this image? 'Cheers, Loopy30 (talk) 12:34, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The description must mistake have been a copy-paste problem. I'm not sure why the image disappeared from BOLD Systems, but here you can see that it originally was shown there. Lymantria (talk) 15:51, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. I'll use the image, but hopefully it wasn't removed from the BOLD Systems website because it was later discovered to be misidentified. Loopy30 (talk) 00:51, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
