Pay attention to copyright
File:Frangollo.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

The image was originally posted here, and not under a free-use license -> http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/2420988/frangollo-canary-island-corn-pudding Takeaway (talk) 23:23, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Takeaway Hi, sorry about that - I sourced the picture from a wiki based web site in which all content and images were shared under the Creative Commons 3.0 share-alike license (https://diet-canary-islands.wikispaces.com/Desserts+and+pastries) but it looks like it must have been used without permission.
Looking at that image you sent more closely it seems that it itself was probably used unlicensed from this site (http://www.elbaifoilustrado.com/desarticulada-una-banda-de-trafico-ilegal-de-frangollo/) which appears to be about illegal frangollo dessert smuggling - bizarre! Do you wish me to remove the image or do you need to do that? Thanks Loweredtone (talk) 00:31, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It is a bit unlikely that the police image is the original. It is dated 2012 whereas the image that I had found is dated 2009. The frangollo looks surprisingly similar because the police photo is actually a photoshopped photo of the one I had found. Just look at the small red dot on the left corner of the glass dish which is still a remnant of the red border used in the photo from the website that I had found. The article is probably just poking fun of something and not to be taken seriously at all. I don't think you need to do anything. As it was tagged as a copyvio, an admin will delete it very soon. Cheers! - Takeaway (talk) 04:01, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Takeaway Ah, ok - I just saw that all the sultanas were in the same position and thought it must be that :) I've contacted the person who took the original photo and asked them to upload it to WikiCommons so perhaps they'll do that and we can get permission to use it. Loweredtone (talk) 11:15, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
if you receive permission, follow the procedure in COM:OTRS with the new, higher resolution image from the original author. Good luck! - Takeaway (talk) 21:46, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Loweredtone. While certain sister projects (notably English Wikipedia, among others) may accept Fair Use media in certain circumstances, please note that Commons does not. All files uploaded to commons must be free for anyone to use for any purpose. Cheers, Storkk (talk) 11:02, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi :Storkk, thanks for letting me know. Each Roddy Doyle book has a cover image but I didn't realise they were on Wikipedia and not the Commons. Could you delete that image I added? Thanks, Loweredtone (talk) 11:53, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No worries... and I deleted it right before messaging you. :) Cheers, Storkk (talk) 11:55, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
