Copyright violation
[edit]Hi,
I just asked the deletion of two of the photos you uploaded last month because it seems that you are not the original author. You cannot upload photos on Commons that you did not take by yourself. Anyway, please tell me if I am wrong about this. Goodshort (talk) 10:35, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, no worries about that. Have a good day, Goodshort (talk) 11:20, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- The pictures are going to be deleted from Wikimedia Commons. Indeed, uploading photos that you did not take by yourself is illegal (it is a copyright violation). You can read Commons:Deletion policy for further explanations. Goodshort (talk) 11:27, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- No you can't. The authors of the photos own their copyright and you don't. The problem is that Commons only accept pictures under free licences (see Commons:Licensing) and most of the photos you can find on the internet are not explicitely uploadeded under free licences. Only the author of the photos can decide to put them on Commons. Goodshort (talk) 11:34, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

File:Laura Robson Roland-Garros 2013.JPG has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Copyright violations
[edit]
Hello LionelMessi2010.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |
