File:CadwBR078.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

- Thank you for pointing this out. The image was sent to me by the LCM field monument warden at Cadw. I have been in contact the archeologits to check whether it is OK to place the image in the public domain. I expect the answer to be yes, since all Cadw scheduled reports are publically available online e.g. https://coflein.gov.uk/en/site/306308/
- I will get back in touch after I get a reply. 2A02:C7C:86D6:1000:3DE3:5C91:C974:B8A7 15:12, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- Available online doesn't mean it's free of copyright, most of what is online is under copyright. The map on that link has "© Crown Copyright and database right 2021. Ordnance Survey" at the bottom-right so copyrighted. I assume this file uses Ordinance Survey data, so you need permission from Ordnance Survey I expect, unless Cadw replies stating otherwise.
- If Cadw do state they would release the file (or an alternative that is good enough on your part) under a free licence then see COM:VRT to follow instructions on proving they have given you permission on behalf of Commons and under a free licence.
- Of course, making a fully custom map is preferred using free licence data, such as from OpenStreetMap, although it doesn't have a lot data for this area yet. Diolch DankJae 23:12, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Diolch, for taking the time to clarify the situation. I have removed the map from my draft, and in time I will replace it with an OSM version. I am happy for my original image to be deleted. LiamGM (talk) 05:55, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
