Atribution
[edit]If you do are not aware of what is copyright I suggest you have a detailed look at the code of rules. Attribution means that the image itself remains copyrighted and owned by the owner. The owner still has its full rights to the reproduction of that image. Hencethereforth the image APL development is not a copyright violation. As Moscow Metro still ownes the image, but has specifically allowed for its distribution provided it be attributed. --Kuban kazak 23:21, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Alex Spade 16:51, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for uploading a cleaner version of the image. However, as I uploaded the image with measurements in centimetres around the sign per official manual, if you want a cleaner version without the measurements, please upload with separate name, such as Image:TW-Art043-no-cm.png. Thanks for your understanding.--Jusjih 18:01, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 18:20, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
