Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT (talk) 05:54, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Map of France (Coronavirus outbreak)
[edit]Be careful, France is a very small countries, it means that you can be hospitalized in another department that where you where infected. They weren't any infection or diagnoses in Loire Atlantique, Nord, Sommme and Isère, only hospitalizations from Oise and Haute-Savoie.
- Thank your for your comment. I'm aware of that, I live in Brittany. I wasn't sure how to represent the situation on the map, whether represent the hospitalizations, the infection places or both. I decided to go for both, but maybe I should use the last chart of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_coronavirus_outbreak_in_France and put only the infection places. I'll correct it when I'll be able to do so. Lekemok (Komz ganin / Talk to me) 09:40, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
- May I recommend changing the hospitalisations' colour to something different and more neutral like dark blue? Green has been used a bit everywhere for recovered cases so it is slightly confusing.Pie3636 (talk) 23:04, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
- Bonjour Lekemok, merci pour la création de cette carte ! Serait-il possible que tu continues à la mettre à jour afin que nous puissions l'utiliser dans l'article dédié ? --François Calvaresi (talk) 12:14, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
Looks like you have mistaken Lozère and Gard on the map / Il semble que tu aies confondu la Lozère et le Gard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flee-Floo (talk • contribs) 20:00, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
File:Shield-Trinity-Scutum-Fidei-English.svg
[edit]I originally used PostScript to generate the SVG, but you don't need PostScript to create a modified version -- the majority of people who work with SVG would load the SVG file into Inkscape and substitute the text. I can't really upload files right now, or I could do it for you... AnonMoos (talk) 08:34, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
