Hi Lachy70,

Just a small suggestion about the picture on your homepage (File:UDHR CJKV.png), which is also used on other Wikipedia pages. Is it possible that you use a different/native font for each language? It seems to me that all of the Chinese characters in all 4 languages are in some font designed for Simplified Chinese. For instance, the

嚴

character should be shown as

嚴

in Korean and

厳

in Japanese, but instead shown incorrectly as

嚴

and

厳

. (In case you did not see the difference, it is about the upper left part of

敢

). (Hopefully your browser will show my language-dependent characters correctly lol.)

Also, in Korean, the

尊

character should be written as

尊

instead of

尊

; other examples being

良心

、

精神

、

權利

.

In Japanese, it should be

胞

instead of

胞

and there seems to be a space in between

同胞

?

And the

語

in the titles of each column.

More of this kind of character differences can be looked up in pages like 舊字形 and 新字形 in Chinese Wikipedia.

Considering the usage of old orthography such as Chu Nom and Hanja, is it okay for you to also add in a column for Traditional Chinese? Thank you.

Hello @CJKVR, thank you for bring up issues with File:UDHR CJKV.png, I am aware that there are plenty of mistakes with fonts and character variants. My reason for using the same font for all of the languages is due to the lack of font support for character variants for Vietnamese, Japanese, and Korean. I'll be happy to fix these issues if I could find the character fonts using 楷書. I am also willing to add a column for Traditional Chinese. As far as I am aware of, the font used for Vietnamese chữ Nôm was recently updated, so I can fix the issues with Vietnamese.

I was wondering if you could refer me to any resources for Japanese and Korean fonts?

Sure, For Traditional Chinese, there is the widely used Mac Kaiti TC. For Japanese, there is the famous

教科書体

(you could search Kyokashotai on Google). For Korean, there is the wellknown

宮書體（궁서체）

(you could search Gungseo). All of them are

楷書

.

Anyways, as a side note, for ease of download and avoiding copyright issues, there are always

黑體

and

宋體（明體）

options from Google Fonts.

• For Traditional Chinese
• For Japanese
• For Korean
• For Simplified Chinese

Hello @CJKVR, I have updated File:UDHR CJKV.png. I decided to change all of the fonts to a gothic typeface for easier readability and availability of fonts.

All mistakes that you have listed above should be fixed. And if you have time to take a look, please correct me on my mistakes if there is any,

vector versions

hey, i really appreciate File:Variants_of_漢_in_the_CJKV_languages.png on w:Chinese characters, would it be possible to upload an .svg version, or let me know what fontfaces you used so i can produce a vectorized version? Remsense (talk) 15:36, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello, for the fonts I used,

Chinese: KaiTi, Japanese: EPSON-KAISHO, Korean: GungSeo, and for the Vietnamese variant, I had to make the character myself because there is very little font support for Vietnamese variants and characters.

Since I made this image in Photoshop, I do not think I could create a .svg version since Photoshop has removed the ability to export the file as SVG. Lachy70 (talk) 23:23, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
