File:Animation of the Afghan Civil War of 1928-1929.gif

[edit]

Hi. This is a good gif about the war. Is it possible to create one for the War in Afghanistan 2001-2021? It would be long yes, I personally would have stills for Oct 2001, Nov 2001, Dec 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, Jan 2021, Aug 15 2021. --Weaveravel (talk) 10:36, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kyrgyz flag in 1916

[edit]

Good afternoon! I apologize for disturbing you, but I need your help and your advice regarding the flag, even flags, of the Kyrgyz in 1916. Is it convenient for you to discuss this here, or in another messenger? 212.42.124.206 11:20, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It is convenient for me to discuss here. Koopinator (talk) 11:40, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks for answer! I found sources that mention at least 24 flags (all sources are in Russian), but there are descriptions of only 4 flags. The first flag is a white banner with Arabic script, you have already drawn it. The second flag is a red banner (whether there was text on it is unknown). The third flag is a blue banner with white spots. The fourth flag is a white and red banner. It was the fourth flag that was used by the Kyrgyz even before the uprising (there is even a photograph) by the prominent leader Shabdan Dzhantaev. His son was proclaimed khan (king) in 1916 and he raised the white and red banner. So this flag should be used in articles? Need your advice.
Sources:
1) [1] (pages 62-63)
2) [2] (page 156, using the banner of Shabdan Dzhantaev)
3) [3] (Description of the flag by Shabdan Dzhantaev) 46.251.192.233 12:19, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, this is a complicated question. I am not entirely sure what flag might be most appropriate. I suggest asking on Central Asian revolt of 1916 or Flag of Kyrgyzstan for more opinions. Koopinator (talk) 12:22, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This [4] source says that the entire uprising on the territory of Kyrgyzstan was led by two people (they were elected khans): Mokush Shabdanov (son of Shabdan Dzhantaev) and Kanat Abukin (Ybyke). The two had two different flags. I painted the Mokush flag, and Kanat had a red banner. It is worth using one of the flags instead of the white one, since the white one was used by the rebels of another leader who did not play a significant role. 212.42.124.206 12:47, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will say that I am not an expert on the matter of flags used in the 1916 uprising. I just read a description of a flag and then drew it and added it to Enwiki. If you feel you have done better research, be bold. Koopinator (talk) 12:52, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, then where should I write about this? And I would like to ask you to draw these two flags (white-red and red) and publish them here, if it’s not difficult for you, thank you! :) 46.251.192.233 13:07, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Central Asian revolt of 1916 or Flag of Kyrgyzstan would be good places to write about it. I'll see if I can get around to drawing the flags sometime this week. Koopinator (talk) 13:42, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! The white and red flag (similar to the flag of Poland) should be drawn as it was used by Shabdan before the uprising. Thank you again for your work! 46.251.211.8 13:46, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
