Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

- This photo was uploaded before and deleted because of a suspected copyright issue. I had the owner sent email to wiki and thought that was taken cared of. However, it was not put back so I tried to request undelete again. On Wiki Commons it says the file has been archived and to re-upload the photo. So I uploaded it again, and it is now flagged and deleted, again.
- The photo is provided by Hongsheng Culture, which is the owner of the photo. They distributed the photo for free publicity use and is being used by various articles and websites. Original violation notice was given because the photo appeared in other sites. I tried hard to follow the instructions but for all the work plus getting the photo owner to send email with confirmation the photo is for free use, but that didn't seem to work. I wish we don't have to go back and forth on this again. Please kindly advise. Kievew (talk) 03:15, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

- @Patrick Rogel: This photo was released by owner for public use, thus is found on many media/articles/websites, including social media posts, related to Wang Leehom winning the awards. Just because a freely used photo is seen on another site does not make it a copyright violation. Undelete request sent. Please undelete or advise best way to resolve this. Thank you. Kievew (talk) 05:35, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi. You are wrong: pictures from social media are not "free" and can't be uploaded here unless they have be explicitely published under one of the valid licenses listed here. Besides copyright is almost always with the photographer so you must obtain his/her permission to reuse his/her photo before uploading it here. Kind regards, --Patrick Rogel (talk) 11:05, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Patrick Rogel: Thank you for the clarification. I understand and agree with your comment. My point was that a photo from public domain being posted on a site or social media doesn't make it a copyrighted photo that no one else can use, so by seeing it on a site or social media should not be the proof that the photo is copyrighted. For this particular photo I do have the permission by the original photographer/owner (Hongsheng Culture) to use on Wiki, but I don't know how to note that on file. Please kindly advise. Kievew (talk) 03:50, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hongsheng Culture must send a permission via COM:OTRS. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 11:49, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Patrick Rogel: Thank you. Hongsheng Culture confirmed that they've sent email to OTRS. I tried looking up the undelete request but the file had been archived. I have no access and want to avoid creating a new file as it warned that the file still exists. Not sure what to do next. Please kindly advise.
