Komatiite photos
[edit]Thanks for uploading your komatiite photos to Wikimedia Commons. It's nice to see some good examples of spinifex texture etc. Do you have any details of the location where the samples were originally found? Also, do you have any information about the particular rock formation name and age? If you know any of these details, please could you add them to the photo descriptions? These pieces of information would improve the potential usefulness of the photos for various Wikipedia articles. GeoWriter (talk) 21:28, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hi GeoWriter,
- I'm new at this, so apologies if I'm leaving this message in the wrong place... should I be responding by editing your message on my talk page?
- Thanks for noticing the komatiites. I agree that additional details would be nice. The samples have been sitting in drawers for years with nothing but sample numbers (sometimes) and mystery attached, so detective work is required. For the moment I have a reasonable idea of who I should be buying the beer for, but not much else. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KarlaPanchuk (talk • contribs) 21:58, 06 February 2016 (UTC)
You are free to reply on your own page or mine, but I think most people tend to reply on the page where a discussion starts, just so that the comments and replies can be seen in one place. Therefore, I am copying your message here and replying here. Good luck with your detective work about the samples. Also, if you have access to any other samples, photos of them would be welcome additions to the geological image collection on Wikimedia Commons. GeoWriter (talk) 17:00, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
