Thanks for uploading File:Gerash Pics-001.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Gerash Pics-001.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File copyright status
[edit]Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your recent file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 21:23, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
File:Zainal Mohebi.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Source of derivative work is not properly indicated: File:Ab Anbar Kal Timeline.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Ab Anbar Kal Timeline.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

- use in any work, regardless of content
- creation of derivative works
- commercial use
- free distribution
See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions. And also:

Coords needed
[edit]Do you know coordinates of this building? If you do, please insert it in Wikidata, or send it to me here. I found coords of everything else which you uploaded. :) --Orijentolog (talk) 03:23, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Orijentolog Hello and thanks. I inserted that. Kadamoo (talk) 05:16, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- Afarin, heyli mamnun. --Orijentolog (talk) 10:49, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- P.S. I was in Qazvin recently, and when a guide in Sardar-e Bozorg Ab Anbar said it's "the biggest ab anbar in Iran" I said "na, bozorgtarin dar shahr-e Gerash ast!". And I had to show him sources because he didn't believe me. :) --Orijentolog (talk) 11:06, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Orijentolog This is the source to show them. :) Kadamoo (talk) 13:35, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

- I know, if you open Wikidata items of Kal Ab Anbar and Sardar-e Bozorg Ab Anbar, you'll see that I already cited that IRNA article as source. But there's something more interesting: dome of Haj Asadollah Ab Anbar (d=21 m) is also larger than dome of Sardar-e Bozorg Ab Anbar (d=17 m). Furthermore, dome of Kal Ab Anbar (d=29 m) is larger than dome of Soltaniyeh Mausoleum (d=25.5 m), it's the largest dome in Iranian architectural history! :) The same size like United States Capitol dome, wow! I hope Gerash will reconstruct it. --Orijentolog (talk) 14:14, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Orijentolog 😁
- I hope so, but don't think that will be possible. It's very difficult to reconstruct the dome, while it's construction never compeleted at all... Kadamoo (talk) 14:42, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- It's surely possible today, with steel inside dome. You can be a manager of reconstruction: speak with local cultural office, find some good construction company, and start a crowdfunding campaign online. I'm sending a million toman just this month, to see gonbad-e bozorgtarin alive again! :) --Orijentolog (talk) 15:09, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- It's some more complicated than you said. However, I hope and will try. :) Kadamoo (talk) 15:44, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- OK, I'll hold you to your word! :) I added mentioned interesting details in the article. --Orijentolog (talk) 16:22, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

Naming
[edit]Please don't change English names to Persian ones, it's (largely) not a standard here. Orijentolog (talk) 12:20, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi dear Orijentolog. For Tangab Dam (Gerash County), it's pronunciation in farsi is "Tange Ab" (تنگِ آب, not تنگاب); so I think "Tange Ab" or "Tang-e Ab" is better than "Tangab". For Seven Ab Anbars (Gerash), "Haft Berkeh" is its proper noun; like Chehel Sotun, means "Forty Columns". :) Kadamoo (talk) 12:55, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- There's one big difference: Chehel Sotun, Besh Qardash and Si-o-se Pol are "famous" names, common names in English, but ab anbars are not. See for example Churches in Isfahan, all have translated English names. Regarding Tangab, that's also not a mistake but a common name in English gazetteers, books and geographical databases. I'm very careful about such things, always checking a lot before making new categories or items, so please trust me. :) Geographical locations of course aren't translated to English (Gorge of the water) like buildings, but tange ab still isn't correct, encyclopedias would use tang-e ab (with "-") if they want to follow a precise pronunciation (examples: Iranica's Tang-e Sarvak, Wikipedia's Tang-e Eram). Anyway, if some geoname don't follow your pronunciation, don't think it's wrong. Nishapur and Isfahan are common English names for centuries, and can not be change to Neyshabur and Esfahan. World speaks farsi-ye dehati, we can not change it. :) --Orijentolog (talk) 13:27, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Orijentolog You're right. But in this case, I think this items (Seven Ab Anbars & Tangab) are not common in English and for the first time must be translate from their native language. Whatever, I trust you and what you do is better. thank you. Kadamoo (talk) 13:39, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- You're welcome, thank you. I was checking maps, GeoNames, Historical Gazetteer of Iran and books, so I assure you that Tangab is most common, and the second one is Tang Ab. And regarding ab anbars we're both right and wrong, it's subjective, but I prefer English as I used the same principle for other groups of buildings (like Sirjan Twin Icehouses and others). --Orijentolog (talk) 13:47, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Orijentolog Ok. Just a notice: Pronunciation of "Tang-e Ab (Gerash)" is diffrent from "Tangab (Firouzabad)". Kadamoo (talk) 14:09, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
