User talk:Jose77
Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Re: Barat
[edit]Hi Jose, I don't know Barat, so I don't know if he is appropriate as an admin or not. I do know that the Uyghur wiki sorely needs an automatic script conversion tool, but I'm not sure how being an admin means he can implement it -- I would have thought you need a developer to help. cheers --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 10:39, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Please give images good descriptions
[edit]
I noticed you've uploaded Image:Wikipedia-logo-dzu-big.png and I thought I should turn your attention to a common error.
Please give some thought to writing a good description of uploaded images. This ensures that they can be used. It also helps those that review and improve categories do a better job, which also ensures that images will get used in novel and interesting ways. Thanks, and happy editing! - Just say that is an adapted version of that image.--Sdrtirs (talk) 09:42, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Please link images
[edit]
Hello Jose77!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.
To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.
You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.
The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Baidu
[edit]That link you gave didn't go to a wiki. Evrik (talk) 21:25, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
- Probably not.
- The direct link is blocked (by referer), so it's not likely they want us to reuse it.
- The image is too small to be useful.
- It doesn't specify the license, so we can't assume it's free.

- Okay, thankyou for your reply. --Jose77 (talk) 21:41, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Jose77. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Jose77~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
