Diagramas de fase que contienen reacciones de tres fases
[edit]Los sistemas binarios constituyen diagramas de fases más complejos que los diagramas de fases isomorfos. Éstos sistemas involucran reacciones constituidas por tres fases separadas.
Es posible identificar a cada una de las tres fases en un diagrama por medio del siguiente procedimiento:
1. Localice la linea horizontal en el diagrama de fases, la cual indica la presencia de una reacción de las tres fases, pero además señala la temperatura a la que ocurre la reacción en condiciones de equilibrio.
2. Ubique tres puntos distintos en esa linea: los dos puntos extremos más un tercero entre los dos anteriores. Este último punto representa la composición a la que ocurre la reacción de las tres fases, este punto no está necesariamente en el centro.
3. Después, observe arriba del punto intermedio e identifique la fase o fases presentes; luego, observe debajo del punto entre los puntos extremos e identifique la fase o fases presentes. Después escriba la reacción de la(s) fase(s) arriba del os) punto(s) que se está(n) transformado en la(s) fase(s) debajo del punto.
4. Identificar esta reacción con las que se muestran en la tabla 1.
Cada una de estas reacciones de tres fases ocurre a una temperatura y composición fijas. En estos casos, la regla de las fases de Gibbs (a presión constante) es:
- .Failed to parse (syntax error): {\displaystyle L = C – F + 1 = 2 – 3 + 1 = 0 } .
Esto significa que cuando hay tres fases en equilibrio en un sistema binario, no hay grados de libertad. La temperatura y composición de cada fase es constante, situación que se mantiene mientas existan las tres fases en equilibrio. [1]
Regla de las Fases de Gibbs
La construcción de los diagramas de fases, está regida por las leyes de la termodinámica. Una de éstas es la regla de las fases de Gibbs.
Esta regla representa un criterio para el número de fases que coexisten dentro de un sistema en equilibrio, y se expresa mediante la siguiente ecuación:
Failed to parse (syntax error): {\displaystyle L = C – F + N } .
• L es el número de grados de libertad o número de variables controladas externamente que deben especificarse para definir completamente el sistema.
• C es el número de componentes en el sistema.
• F es el número de fases presentes.
• N es el número de variables diferentes de la composición (es decir, presión y temperatura). [2]
