About the School

Vijayantha Senior Secondary School (VSSS) was started in the year 1975, located 1.5km from Avadi bus terminus and railway station. VSSS has a revolutionary history. There was no separate school for the children of the employees working in Heavy Vehicles Factory (H.V.F). The HVF employees had raised the concern and staged protests to start a school that would cater to the needs of their Children education. After a string of protests, the school was started in 1975 with just Ist grade and gradually went up to XIIth grade. VSSS has shaped lot of professionals who have spread successfully around the globe.

Events & Achievements

Some of the old students of this Prestigious School had the spark to think about a day Back to School with their beloved teachers. By sheer determination, dedication, involvement, hard work and support from the old students the dream materialised on August 16th 2008 wherein a large number of students gathered to express the gratitude to the school and teachers, which was a GRAND SUCCESS.

On November 22nd 2008 the Old Students organised a crazy Mohan show at the Vijayantha Auditorium for the cause of the Alumni, Sri. Senthil Kumar, for his Medical Treatment and donated a sum of Rs. 55,000/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only) to the beneficiary.

Chocolate Krishna Drama

VSSS Summer Cricket Tournament 2009 was organised on May 01st, 02nd and 03rd 2009 at Ajaya Stadium, H.V.F, Avadi where many teams participated. The winner team was awarded a Winner Rolling Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 3,000/- followed by the Runner Rolling Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 2,000/- to the Runner's team. The news about this event was published in the column Down Town, The Hindu dated Sunday, May 17th 2009.

Formation of the Alumni

During the reunion between the teachers and students realised that such gatherings and discussions if made at regular intervals would help in a more way to the growth of the upcoming generations and in the long run for the development of the nation. Hence, registered a Forum – VSSSALUMNI

The Alumni Meet was organised on December 27th 2008 where Mrs. P.Omana, the Headmistress of V.S.S.School and Sri. V.Radhakrishnan presided the show alongwith a mass Alumni.

Agendas of the Alumni

To honour the retiring teachers and outstanding students (Academic/Sports/Arts)

To initiate/organise programmes that would enable the students to discover themselves

To assist and help teachers and old students in their time of crisis

To support the growth of the school

To support and assist for the welfare of the teachers and old students

To explore possibilities to mould students as required by the nation

Any other agendas as necessitated with time and permission of the board.

Future Plans

To conduct prgrammes like Career Guidance, Personality Development, counseling for the X and XII students who would be leaving the School. The Alumni would stand as a base to get back to their friends and teachers.

During 2010, the Alumni have planned to celebrate VIJAYANTHA – SUCCESSFUL 35 YEARS AND MORE wherein the aim is to assemble all the old students of this PRESTIGIOUS School.

The Alumni request the community people of this Alma Matter to pass on this information to all their friends of VIJAYANTHA and to give a helping hand to achieve this motto.

We welcome the old students to enroll with us as MEMBERS and stand as a support for the said causes.
