Tony Blair
[edit]Hi James. Just curious as to your thoughts on this cropped version of Tony Blair (2010).jpg? In my opinion, the photo itself is superior (as a photographic portrait) to Tony Blair in Ukraine - 2018 (MUS7645) (cropped).jpg in two respects in that (a) it is a statesmanlike portrait by the European Commission (EC) and (b) is the closest thing we have to a freely-licensed official portrait of the former UK PM. (It also took me ages to get the EC and WC to confirm COM:OTRS.) You can view this new headshot at simple:Tony Blair (in which it serves as the main infobox image). - @Nick.mon: Can you possibly offer a third opinion on this, please? AlbanGeller (talk) 16:40, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree it’s a very good photo which looks like an official portrait of the Prime Minister. -- Nick.mon (talk) 08:25, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Nick. Would you be able to extract a new crop of Tony Blair (2010).jpg (the original does not have the best aspect ratio) that can serve as the infobox photo for en:Tony Blair? AlbanGeller (talk) 09:17, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- @AlbanGeller: What about this cropped version? -- Nick.mon (talk) 09:57, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Nick.mon: Looks good. Can you include it on en:Tony Blair? AlbanGeller (talk) 10:01, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- Sure! :) -- Nick.mon (talk) 10:02, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Keir Starmer portrait.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Keir Starmer portrait.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
