File:Allman Brothers.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

please unblock me - I am not Jack Pearson - I made an error of chosing his name when I created the account to add thinking this was a way to add a page about him. When I was told it was not the way to create a page and that my user name is inappropriate - I changed it to jackguitarfan. Not inappropriate.

Thanks for uploading File:Jack Pearson.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Jack Pearson.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- Your contributions here have been copyvio images from multiple photographers, and a long (17kb) copyvio biography which has been revision deleted here and at en.wiki because it was taken from a website. You need to be familiar with COM:CB and COM:SCOPE before you can be allowed to edit here. You can't post biographic material anywhere on Commons, especially not copyrighted material that someone else wrote and posted online, and any images you upload have to be your own that you took with your camera or they need to be from a source with a free license (see COM:L); otherwise the photographer would have to send OTRS permission. Thank you for your response INeverCry I realize the many errors that was made by myself and others on this page and have spoken with a number of Wiki editors in understanding and correcting the errors. A few have agreed to give me help from here on out. As to the image issue, I hope to be able to use the free images suggested by Wiki as I found one of the subject there. I truly was not trying to intentionally do wrong - I am learning the process which I found confusing. Meanwhile other users made changes directly from the internet which I have since removed. I am appreciating the help of the editors to get things going correctly from here forward. User:Jackguitarfan (talk) 18:00, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
- What free images are you referring to? So far you've uploaded only non-free images here. INeverCry 19:00, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
I haven't done it yet as I wanted to make sure I did it correctly. I would like to upload this one to the page. https://www.google.com/search?safe=off&tbm=isch&tbs=sur:fmc&q=%22Jack+Pearson%22+musician+-site:wikipedia.org+-site:wikimedia.org#imgrc=erjbpHdY5k4xCM%3A Thank you.User:Jackguitarfan (talk) 19:03, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
- OK, that comesfrom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=663g038_-jE, which has a free license (be sure to source it to that video and credit the video's creator as the author; the license is {{Youtube CC-BY}}. Make sure you understand COM:CB and COM:NETCOPYRIGHT before uploading more images to Commons. Also, biographies or fan userpages are out of Commons project scope, so no more of those. The text goes on Wikipedia. I'll unblock you, but any more of what you've done so far will lead to the block being put back in place. INeverCry 19:15, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for all your help (yes - I didn't realize that Wikipedia Commons and Wikipedia were totally separate and that added more confusion to the already confused lol!) Thank you for removing the block and I'll do my best to be more careful. I am going to wait to upload this image until I study the suggestions you sent and make sure the text is correct as well. WAIT - did I do something today on commons with biographies or userpages? I believe I've only started a draft on Wikipedia? Jackguitarfan (talk) 19:19, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
- You posted bio material on User:Jack Pearson (Musician) and in our sandbox with this account. The sandbox material you posted had to be hidden as it was taken from a website. INeverCry 19:45, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
