Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

@Herbythyme: could you elaborate on this block? Is there vandalism I'm missing? While it is a practice with which I disagree, the Commons does not import sanctions from other projects. Эlcobbola _talk 20:51, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The only contributions on here was actually the removal of information from an image (the es info) comparing versions? That is classic vandalism to me. Herby ^{talk thyme} 07:16, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Herbythyme: - This is untrue. That singular es label removal was because they'd previously added an alternative sentence and were removing the redundancy--see the net of their changes to that file. Note that they also correctly replaced {{cc-by-sa-4.0}} with {{PD-logo}} and changed the author field from the bogus self-claim of the uploader to "Real Hasta la Muerte, LLC". Thanks, Herby. I note I misread the removed label above (it was a fr label removal, not a redundant es one). Given the other contributions to the file, however, including the addition of four other language labels, I think AGF says it was a mistaken removal. In the future, please remember to provide evidence in the form of a URL (e.g. https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2022/12/EmilianoMartinez2-_PhotoPoster.png?w=640) when tagging a file as a copyvio, instead of just saying "No license".
