Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope
[edit]
Christian Ferrer (talk) 19:39, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
Christian Ferrer In response to your comment, "Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”." The files I uploaded are exactly this and are in project scope. --InternetReputation (talk) 21:37, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
Эlcobbola Excuse me? "Your inquires at both Commons:Help desk and Commons:Undeletion requests/Current requests have received prompt and ample guidance." Prompt and ample guidance? You've got to be kidding me. I have received no guidance whatsoever. I still have no idea why my files have been deleted nor why my account has been blocked when I am trying to change my username as I have been instructed to do. No one told me that while I wait for this to happen, my account is blocked and the citations provided as to why my images are being taken down does not cite anything relevant to the files I shared, so is useless, irrelevant information.InternetReputation (talk) 22:29, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- Have you read any responses? What part of this was unclear as regarding why your image is unacceptable? Have you read COM:IU? What part of the "Organizations" and "Account verification" section are unclear? Have you read COM:OTRS? Эlcobbola talk 22:37, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- Эlcobbola Excuse me, there is no need for you to be so rude. I had not seen any of this: this until just now. I logged in today and all I saw was a message telling me my account was blocked. I didn't even have a chance to look into the edit log and now, since I am blocked, I cannot reply to them asking for clarification and help. Thanks a lot. - I don't consider genuine questions rude. As someone purporting to represent an organisation, one wonders whether your employers would consider dismissiveness ("useless, irrelevant information"), casting aspersions ("why are people just going crazy"), and failure to be diligent, thorough, and patient to be polite ("there is no need for you to be so rude") or professional. Эlcobbola talk 23:08, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- [User:elcobbola|Эlcobbola]] Clearly you have some unresolved issues with your current situation and feel the need to talk down to others as a result of your presumed position of power on this platform. Regardless, I am not "purporting" to represent an organization at all. I am just trying to share files made by this organization because I think these people made some visually appealing, educational infographics that are licensed to share via a Creative Commons license. I have taken it upon myself, personally, not as something I am being paid to do, but purely because I think they would be a benefit to this community.

It is not my fault that I am new and trying to learn. Last time I checked, this community was supportive of the common goal of sharing information, it wasn't about blocking access to new users because they do not have the knowledge that some of you long time users have.
However, This line of communication is clearly not leading to any positive results, so I am goin going to end it.
You should be ashamed of yourself for bullying new users like myself, when the aim of Wikimedia Commons is to provide a media file repository "that makes available public domain and freely-licensed educational media content to all, and that acts as a common repository for the various projects of the Wikimedia Foundation." I can't imagine your actions will be looked fondly upon by other Wikimedia administrators as you, as an administrator are supposed to, "be prepared to work constructively with others towards those ends (goals of the Wikimedia Project)." [edit]Hey, I was reading your request and while it has no issues, I have a suggestion to choose Simone at IR instead of Simone G (InternetReputation.com) as latter will be hard to use while you login or others ping you. If you ok with that suggestion I will happily rename you to Simone at IR. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 15:28, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
Hi 1997kB Thank you for the suggestion! I am absolutely ok with it:) --InternetReputation (talk) 15:31, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
