[edit]Hello. Are you the people from OTRS who validating this agreement? I have got some questions.
- Can you translate it at least in english;
- Why the sender dont use a “gsc-game.com” adress;
- If the agreement talk about GFDL 1.2, the template is wrong ({{Attribution}} is not the same as {{GFDL}}, or {{GFDL-1.2}}).
Thanks for your help. ~ bayo or talk 10:28, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hello. No, I am not from OTRS. I the one who talked with GSC about the permission.
- Yes, I think.
- You can open http://www.gsc-game.com/ and find any adresses of company. There are no adresses with “gsc-game.com”. Only with gsc-game.kiev.ua and others.
- Quotation from text: “By the present it is declared that company GSC Game World allows to publish screenshots from games of the company on the terms of free licence GNU Free Documentation License versions 1.2 (http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html) or any newer.”
- You are welcome. - Iniquity (talk) 17:29, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. I update the template (i do the same with the Ubisoft one) to split the license and the agreement. Can you please update Template:Attribution-GSC Game World/ruhttp://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Iniquity&action=edit§ion=1? Thats sure an incredible agreement. ~ bayo or talk 20:50, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- You are welcome, again. Can you say to me what I must update? Template:Attribution-GSC Game World/ru is O'k, I think. - Iniquity (talk) 21:40, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- Here you can see a diff [1], “a free license” -> “GFDL or later”. ~ bayo or talk 22:38, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Yep, and? - Iniquity (talk) 08:15, 4 March 2009 (UTC)- Oh, I understand. I had translated this template.[2] - Iniquity (talk) 08:23, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. ~ bayo or talk 11:20, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- I was glad to help. - Iniquity (talk) 11:35, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

GSC Game World Attribution
[edit]Hi, I am a french user, active on the videogames project on fr.Wikipedia. I have discovered the GSC Game World agreement a month ago, and waw, this is amazing !
I have meant to come here since then : could you tell a bit more about this agreement ? How did yout do that ? How did the "negociations" go ?
Using your experience, maybe we could try and negociate an agreement with french editors (or other editors, for that matter).
Congratulations for having managed this agreement, this a great thing for this project. Many thanks, Jean-Frédéric (talk) 20:07, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, I glad to hear it. My experience... O'k. I take the sample of the text of the permission and ask developers to send it in Wikipedia. They have agreed and have sent it. Somethinf like this). It was not hard. - Iniquity (talk) 15:30, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks... If I was to imagine something, it would more have been some kind of secret negociation in a dark room, maybe with suitcases full of banknotes or something ^^.
- Indeed, it does not seem very hard... Well, congratulations again anyway. I will try it too someday myself. Keep up the good work, Jean-Frédéric (talk) 21:43, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

File:Icon Twitter Blue.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Hi there. There seems to be a spacing issue between {{Upload Help notice}} and {{TNT}}. Could you see if can be resolved? 1989talk 22:34, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi :) I can fix it, but it seems to me that it should be removed from there. They duplicate each other :) Iniquity (talk) 22:47, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2022 voting is open!
[edit]Read this message in your language
Dear Wikimedian,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 1 will end on UTC.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee
