Our first steps tour and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki—it is really easy. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Image Tagging Image:Thinkorswim logo.gif
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Thinkorswim logo.gif. This image is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or send an email with copy of a written permission to OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org).
Unless the permission information is given, the image may be speedy deleted after seven days. Thank you.
- Hi Influencenyc! I was patrolling recently uploaded images when I came across this logo. You've noted that Thinkorswim has given permission for their copyright eligible logo to be used in a Wikipedia article, however, when an image is uploaded to Commons (which is different from Wikipedia) it has to be released for anyone to copy, publish, distribute, and/or modify in any way they wish. If Thinkorswim agrees to these terms, they have to give written permission stating such and send it to our OTRS system (see template above for links to instructions). If Thinkorswim doesn't agree to release the logo under the terms Commons requires, you may be able to upload the logo on Wikipedia with a fair use rationale. If you have questions, feel free to leave a note on my talk page. Cheers! Brynn (talk!) 17:10, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
