Hi, you claim that Image:Wolfe shadow & claw.jpg is GFDL, but the document you cite is unreadable for me. I find it highly unlikely that a commercial publishing house would put their artwork under GFDL - this would be the very first time I think. So you're going to need something more convincing than a large but unreadable download, like a letter from the publisher. Stan Shebs 17:02, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hmmmm... I had intended to use the {{bookcover}} template from w:en, but I see that that does not seem to be valid here (in that it redirects to {{Fairuse}}). Are book covers not considered acceptable on the commons? I can't see any information (or even discussion) to indicate that. For what it's worth, the "unreadable" document is a Fuji "raw" image. It is the most trustworthy document I can provide to indicate that I took the photo, though perhaps this is not the issue. If such a "book cover" fair use argument applies, should I just remove the GFDL? I honestly don't care what license it's under; just that it's acceptable for the Commons.HorsePunchKid 21:38, 2005 Jun 16 (UTC)
- Ah, upon further reading, it just appears that the Commons does not accept "fair use" material, whereas w:en does. Should I just move this image over to w:en, then? HorsePunchKid 21:41, 2005 Jun 16 (UTC)
- I've moved the image[1]. Thanks for setting me straight. I am now slightly more knowledgeable about copyrights, at least. :) If either of you is capable, please delete the Commons version. HorsePunchKid 22:57, 2005 Jun 16 (UTC)
