Karabakh Map

[edit]

Hi! Regarding your latest edits to the Karabakh war map - it seems that at least one pro-Russian source (MilitaryMaps on Twitter) also reports this now: https://twitter.com/MilitaryMaps/status/1318077289360482304/photo/1 So, it may be proper to keep the area around Xudafərin marked as captured. However, I would reiterate the need to include third-party sources when making changes to the map and including them in the edit summary - neutral or pro-Armenian/pro-Russian sources are needed to confirm pro-Azeri claims. We've also been discussing the map on Wikipedia: [1] AntonSamuel (talk) 08:48, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand what you're suggesting but if you know how to you can edit the map. HersiliaAramazd (talk) 09:13, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@HersiliaAramazd: I just wanted to say that I think your last edit is ok, I found a pro-Russian source that seemed to confirm it - but I wanted to point out that in the future, please specify a neutral or pro-Armenian/pro-Russian source to confirm pro-Azeri claims. It is prudent to include the source you used in the edit summary. AntonSamuel (talk) 10:02, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, the pro-Azeri claims regarding Zengilan may prove to be correct, but I reiterate my call for the use of neutral or pro-Armenian/pro-Russian sources to confirm pro-Azeri claims regarding your last edit to the map. AntonSamuel (talk) 11:53, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's video confirmed dude. HersiliaAramazd (talk) 11:55, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Both Armenia/Artsakh and Azerbaijan have posted videos serving as "proof" of the control of areas - however, there needs to be a certain standard regarding the sources that are used for this map as its featured on a high-level Wikipedia article. Liveuamap, while relatively neutral, has become unreliable with regard to their map in that they're not properly substantiating the areas they marked as captured. Some tips for relatively neutral or pro-Armenian/pro-Russian sources to confirm pro-Azeri claims are: https://english.iswnews.com/ https://twitter.com/MilitaryMaps https://twitter.com/rr0162 https://www.wardiary.net/ AntonSamuel (talk) 12:13, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:QarabaghWarMap(2020).svg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Harita Hk.

[edit]
