Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. File tagging File:Compact BWC.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Compact BWC.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Compact BWC.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

Copyright violations
[edit]
Hello Herr Matheus.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |
Эlcobbola talk 20:28, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- Public domain isn't copyright, although debatable, a image from a public service may be considered PUBLIC, a replicated image from a Police Dept. by newspaper, can't be considerer proof of copyright-break. It can be issued under fair use, tho not recommended. I've uploaded a lot of files, taken by me, from and of several city public agencies, some out of brands, yet to demonstrate a product elsewhere available.
- Please let me know what can I do with those files, and in case of a review, consider that those images were uploaded as bunch.
I've seen so much copyright image, just like those I've uploaded, what's the concept here, I have used images from the exact same source as other user (indeed the same page source) and mine was taken down, but not there's. Any explanation on why?! Same source, similar content, possibly copyrighted... Herr Matheus (talk) 20:47, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

- @Lord Belbury I can't be responsible for wrongly tagged images, the Flickr uploader claims CC-BY-2.0 and was cleared earlier, also allowed by Commons:Licensing.
- Attribution 2.0 Generic (CC BY 2.0)
- You are free to:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material
- for any purpose, even commercially.
- The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.
- This image was originally posted to Flickr by Robert Couse-Baker at https://flickr.com/photos/29233640@N07/51120842057. It was reviewed on 8 January 2022 by FlickreviewR 2 and was confirmed to be licensed under the terms of the cc-by-2.0.
- In any case, I can't be responsible for this. Please let me know! Herr Matheus (talk) 18:17, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- I don't know what you want me to say, are you saying it shouldn't be deleted? You're responsible for finding this photo and choosing to upload it to Commons. If a user uploads a copyrighted image to Flickr, it shouldn't be copied to Commons, even if they tagged it as CC-Attribution. --Lord Belbury (talk) 19:10, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
File:Dodgey.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
