Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 10:46, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Recent deletion requests
[edit]Hello Herbert Oertel,
Sie koennen gern auf deutsch antworten, wenn bequemer ist.
I see you have uploaded some images on Strömungsmechanik, for exampe File:Car-Wake--jpg.gif. You are also requesting to delete some of the JPEG versions. I am curious: are the original image files GIFs? Are you using software that sometimes converts the original to JPEG before uploading? -84user (talk) 20:47, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
Boundary Layer Transition Plate.jpg 2010-08-02 04:50 Shock Reflection.jpg 2010-07-25 06:16 Bump Separation Control 2010-07-23 06:30 Thermal Instabilities.jpg 2010-07-22 15:24 Thermal Instabilities.jpg 2010-07-20 07:06
sowie die png Files ohne categories:
Convection Rolls TR.png 2010-07-20 07:00 Convection Rolls.png 2010-07-20 06:55
Vielen Dank und beste Grüße
Sie können alle Files löschen, die aus Versehen doppelt geladen wurden.
die fehlende Kategorie ist jeweils Fluid Dynamics
Vielen Dank und beste Grüße
