Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). Please sign your postings
[edit]As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.

Wrong
[edit]Please do not simply revert an administrator declining to speedy delete, I would be failing to honour the community's decision making if I did what you wanted. Going about things in that manner is just going to cause you issues. Follow the process for deletions. Firstly you would do well to look at the talk page of the nominated file as it has two pointers to discussions already. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:39, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- Come back in a week, after you have properly read the instruction and you can follow the processes outlined. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:42, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
@Taivo: How is this an extraordinary circumstance? Also, billinghurst reverted the edit without any reason provided, is that even reasonable? First time block and it's a week already? makes sense ha? Moreover, me apologizing? Promising? Am I a little kid and is this a kindergarten? Hari caaru (talk) 09:14, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- You consider your behavior appropriate, you do not see any wrongdoing from your part. You think, that apologizing and recognizing mistakes is only for kindergarten – real man never apologizes. This shows clearly, that you are not ready for unblock. When unblocked, you will continue edit warring and you will get blocked again, but next time for longer period. Edit war subject is a file – you claim, that this is copyright violation, but you do not give evidence for that and the file was kept after regular deletion request. Taivo (talk) 09:26, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Taivo: Look, my logic here was that it is possibly copyvio since it's uploader had a clear history of copy violating. Several other files were also unable to find copyvio evidence just by searching on Google, but was found in metadata. I don't see myself doing anything wrong here. If blocking people makes you feel more "powerful", just go ahead with it, I'm not interested. Hari caaru (talk) 09:35, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Taivo: Just take a look at the newest nomination now, idiot!! Wanna block me indefinitely? Go ahead!! Hari caaru (talk) 18:57, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
You may be blocked soon

- You've been told twice your proposed name at File:Location of Thừa Thiên Huế within Vietnam.png is meaningless so stop repeatedly asking for the file to be renamed, Add the template again and you'll be blocked. Thank you. –Davey2010Talk 08:45, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Davey2010: If it's meaningless then how about 62 other files in the cat? And please, like I'm scared of these silly blocking intimidation. Go ahead, if you want. Hari caaru (talk) 08:48, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- Sure I'm not exactly happy with the names of those files either but that doesn't mean we should make everything else wrong too, I will seek clarification tomorrow as to whether they should all be moved. –Davey2010Talk 17:41, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Davey2010: You want to do go with the hard work then fine, I'm not going to object to it. All I want is the name of all files to be harmonized. Hari caaru (talk) 18:57, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

July 2021
[edit]Revert again and I will take you to COM:ANU, You've been told to stop with the renames so stop. No one is going to move a perfectly fine name to a poor just because the rest are wrong. How about submit new file renames for all the OTHER files .... or failing that stop with the renames althoghter and focus on something else worthwhile. –Davey2010Talk 18:16, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Davey2010: Let me remind what you told me earlier: "I will seek clarification tomorrow as to whether they should all be moved". I waited for 10 days and now you are making me do the work. What exactly do you want? Play hard to get on me? Hari caaru (talk) 18:54, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- Well yes they should all be moved however I wont be doing it because I'm not the one who has a problem with it. You're now reported at ANU. –Davey2010Talk 18:57, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Davey2010: Then make that clear at that time, why said "I will" now say "I won't". Does that even make sense? That name is still understandable, though not grammatically correct. Keep in mind that there's no rule enforcing the names to be grammatically correct. The file name is not harmonized with the other so my request to rename is absolutely acceptable according to Criteria 4. Hari caaru (talk) 18:59, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

- Hi, Apologies for the drama above, I wasn't trying to be awkward but I felt that as a renamer it wasn't my job to start randomly renaming files where I wasn't asked too however as stated at ANU you were only harmonising files so maybe instead of constantly declining it I should've renamed them sooner and obviously should've thought about the harmonising thing so I apologise for the drama,
- I've renamed a few already and will get the whole category done at some point next week (It's hot weather here in the UK so I would rather make the most of it instead of sat indoors all day renaming files but it will get done don't worry)
- Anyway I apologise again for the drama, We live and we learn, Anyway take care and stay safe Hari Caaru, Kindest Regards, –Davey2010Talk 19:06, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Notification about possible deletion
[edit]Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
