File tagging File:Flag of the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation.png
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Flag of the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |
Der Buckesfelder Talk Evaluation E-Mail commons 08:01, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
@Der Buckesfelder: This media in question was created by myself using elements from File:Flag of Jihad.svg and File:Flag of Algeria.svg, which both are in public domain because they are just simple text or shape (PD-textlogo). There cannot be a copyright existing for this file because: 1) It is too simple (only consisting of text and shapes) for the organisation to claim copyright 2) Islamic symbols and text are not copyrighted, there is no original ownership of these religious symbols 3) I uploaded it as self-published because I used public domain material that allowed me to edit and release it for all purposes
If anything was not clear or if I still need to do formatlities, let me know in a reply. If this file is deleted in 7 days because my "evidence" or arguments are not sufficient, I will reupload it with PD-textlogo as this file falls under that category.
Again please keep in mind this is not a uniquely designed logo of an organisation or company, this is just a generic flag with Islamic symbols that nobody owns. GeneralAdmiralAladeen (talk) 01:26, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hello GeneralAdmiralAladeen, I am sorry for disturbing you. You may right this is just simple Text so no need for a permission. I will remove the request. --Der Buckesfelder Talk Evaluation E-Mail commons 06:25, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
Need help
[edit]Hi there 👋 I have seen you have uploaded so many Rohingya related content and others. I need some advice from you on how to avoid being deleted my page. RohingyaFlag (talk) 20:45, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
@RohingyaFlag: As-salāmu ʿalaykum! Thank you for reaching out to me. If you upload images to Wikimedia Commons, make sure you provide as much information on the source and copyright as possible. Most of my uploads are not copyrighted and I provide a clear source and reasoning; often the reason is that the images are copyright-free in the United States and origin country because they are only simple text and shapes. For more information you can read Commons:Threshold of originality. The summary of the article is: if the image (in our case, Rohingya symbols and flags) only consists of text (Arabic) and/or shapes (star and crescent, etc.), it is usually safe to upload with Template:PD-textlogo as the copyright release. Avoid uploading images as your own work unless it actually is, or it will likely be deleted. – GeneralAdmiralAladeen (Talk) 01:54, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
Also if you find a photo of Rohingya people/culture/community on a Voice of America article and it has "VOA" on the bottom right of the photo, it is available under Template:PD-VOA. – GeneralAdmiralAladeen (Talk) 01:56, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
Thank you...

Problem with your custom signature
[edit]Your account has an invalid custom signature set in the account preferences.
A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software. You can see your custom signature settings at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-personal-signature. You can check your signature at https://signatures.toolforge.org
There are multiple possible errors. This message is being sent to people who have the "Mismatch between link and username" error.
The problem: Your signature links to a different user account. This often happens when you set a custom signature and then change your username.
The solutions: There are two ways to fix this problem. You can reset your signature to the default, or you can modify your signature.
- Modify your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences. (You need to do this step on the wiki where the error is, which is probably the one where you're reading this message.)
- Look in the Signature: text box for your custom signature code. This contains the name of an account, but it's not your account. It's probably the name of another account that you used.
- Change the wrong account name to your current account name.
- If you have more than one account, and you are trying to link to the other account, then change at least one of the links to your current account name. For example, change
Username (talk)
to:Username2 (talk)
(one link to the current account's userpage, and one link to your other account's talk page), or toUsername (talk • contributions)
(two links to your other account and one link toSpecial:Contributions
for your current account).
- If you have more than one account, and you are trying to link to the other account, then change at least one of the links to your current account name. For example, change
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
After you have done this, the error will be fixed. If the error is not fixed, then clicking the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page will produce an error.
If you need help, please read mw:Special:MyLanguage/New requirements for user signatures/Help. Thank you. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk)

Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Syrian Civil Defense logo.png ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
