Timeline of Indian history

[edit]

Hi Footy2000. Thanks for your work on diagrams on Indian subjects. I came across File:Timeline_of_Indian_history.jpg recently. I greatly appreciate your work on it, but I had some concerns I was hoping you could address. The color scheme - unintentionally, I'm sure - creates some POV issues, in that it implies a common religious identity for a number of polities from the IVC to the modern era, whereas some of those were pre-Vedic and some had a complicated relationship with religion (at a time when Buddhism and Jainism were widespread). I wonder if you would be open to creating a version that does not attempt to assign a color scheme by religion. I would encourage the use of such a revision on en.wiki. Hello. Thanks for the review. The colour scheming was intended to signify native Indian political entities from invaders and colonisers. Regardless I agree with the changes as it is merely a colour on the visible spectrum at the of the day. However, the updates with svg variant are long due and would be completed soon with the aforementioned changes. Cheers! Footy2000 (talk) 02:43, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
