Hello, Fernost!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Pay attention to copyright
File:Pro-eleven-visualisierung-fotomontage-0007-3.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Your help with your images please

[edit]

Greetings Fernost! I have been reviewing images without source and I find that many of your images are missing source, but a fix is simple! Please open up your own photography images and change them as I have changed your image of File:Badewanne in Senioreneinrichtung P4670041.JPG. It is simple, merely add "Own" to each of the images which you took, and those templates "no source" will disappear. Your help is most gratefully appreciated; I'm one of the admins going through over 50,000 no source images and asking uploaders who are still active to help with their own images to reduce the backlog and to save the images from nomination as "no source." Thanking you again for your help. Ellin Beltz (talk) 19:36, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. notice that on some of your 2013 images like [:File:Samsung Hardddrive Head Crash DSCN0125.JPG], you have "own photography" typed on that line. That is fine, the Own template is the same thing, but automates the process. Ellin Beltz (talk) 19:39, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bilderfrage

[edit]

Hallo, du hast da viele gute Bilder hochgeladen, danke!
