Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. Hello, Enrico Blasutto!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Equisetum photos

[edit]

Hello Enrico - some of your Equisetum photos labelled E. arvense are actually Equisetum telmateia; these two definitely are: File:Equisetum arvense ENBLA01.jpeg, File:Equisetum arvense ENBLA06.jpeg; and very probably File:Equisetum arvense ENBLA02.jpeg. Some are correctly E. arvense (File:Equisetum arvense ENBLA03.jpeg, File:Equisetum arvense ENBLA04.jpeg, but some others (File:Equisetum arvense ENBLA05.jpeg, File:Equisetum arvense ENBLA07.jpeg, File:Equisetum arvense ENBLA08.jpeg) I am not sure. Would you be able to re-visit these plants and get photos of the mature shoots? - MPF (talk) 23:02, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Enrico,

Are you sure that this is a picture of Crocus biflorus? It looks more as a striped cultivar of Crocus vernus.

On [1] and [2] you have pictures of "true" Crocus biflorus. As you can see, the flower is more slender, and the leaves are much longer and distinctly narrower.

Misidentified image

[edit]

Dear Enrico Blasutto,

Your image Image:Potentilla reptans ENBLA04.jpg is not an image of Potentilla reptans, because some of the stems are branched and carry several flowers or buds. In addition the plant seems to form very dense cushions (which is unusual for Potentilla reptans with its long runners) and the leaves appear to be extremely small. So this is a misnamed image of a different species of Potentilla. It should be renamed and moved to Category:Unidentified Potentilla. Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Can we use these pictures??

[edit]

Dear author,

we would like to use the following pictures for a biodiversity handout to train and inform farmers in the field of biodiversity:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rhinanthus_alpinus_ENBLA02.jpeg https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Crepis_biennis_ENBLA02.JPG https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Polygala_alpestris_ENBLA01.JPG https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Euphrasia_rostkoviana_ENBLA01.jpeg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Carlina_vulgaris_ENBLA02.JPG

Your name along with a link to the original file and the creative common license will be named in the pictures index (sorted by page number and order of pictures).

Although the creative common license does allow the use of the pictures for our purpose, I wanted to make sure you are also fine with us using them.

I would be very grateful if you could give me a short answer.

Kind regards, Ulrike Harant
