Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. Deletion requests
[edit]Hi there, I see you tagged some photos which I transferred from Flickr to here for deletion as they are "all rights reserved", as you stated in your request. I tried to go onto the flickr source page for these photos, but it tried to get me to login to Yahoo (I'm not registered with them). On the file pages, there is a notice which says "this image was originally posted to Flickr by Nigel Burley at https://flickr.com/photos/33246283@N00/6613234067. It was reviewed on 4 February 2017 by the FlickreviewR robot and was confirmed to be licensed under the terms of the cc-by-2.0". CC licences can't be revoked easily (as is my understanding), see the Flickr-change-of-license template about this, but basically it says as long as they were available under the CC licence at one point, they can still be licensed like this. I believe that when I transferred them, they were available under a valid CC licence, so can still be available under the CC licence here. (I would add this to the deletion request pages, but there are quite a few of them, and I don't think it's useful for me to paste this repeatedly to many pages). Thanks.
