Thanks for uploading File:Panjab Digital Library Logo.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Panjab Digital Library Logo.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

I'm going to give you a day before going further but this image clearly says it is from the Panjab Digital Library. This doesn't explain how you can then upload it claiming that it was "your work" and released under the GFDL. You can't just pull things from a library and claim it's your work, even if it was found online or even if you work there. See Commons:Volunteer Response Team because I think everything you have uploaded is a problem and it may all be deleted. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 08:18, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Ricky, I have the permission from the library to upload their images on Wikipedia but with a watermark. AmitojSingh1 (talk) 09:04, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But what license did they agree to? The copyright would be with the personal who took the photo anyways, not the library likely. Either way, can you have the library email the permissions email address following these instructions? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 01:28, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay! I'll ask them to email regarding this. And do they need to email for every photo I upload or they can give one blanket statement? AmitojSingh1 (talk) 06:10, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know actually. You'll have to ask there. Ricky81682 (talk) 19:25, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The Panjab Digital Library is a bs company, only in it for the money. They watermarks PD images for profit, and sell them onto mugs. I can see from a sampling that they delete original authorship data, and dates. Don't use it! Broichmore (talk) 14:24, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Panjab Digital Library

[edit]

Please stop using these watermarked images. They are all available on the internet elsewhere, and often in finer detail. The PDL are also guilty of cropping out or erasing artist signatures. Aside from stealing authorship. They also have a nasty habit of changing the background colouring of images. The bulk of their images are Public Domain. You don't need their permission.

Quit using them! Examples: bastardised image compared to the original image. You also need to drastically upgrade the provenance your giving out here, everything you have put up with this image is incorrect, except the subject matter. -Broichmore (talk) 14:17, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This photo is a copyright violation. The PDL clearly do not own the copyright. The copyright holder is a Suresh Kumar, from 1960. We can use it, at least 75 years from his death. If we cant ascertain his death date (very likely) then we can use it in 2081. Your going to have to revisit all yur PDL work for dates, and put them up for deletion where appropriate. File:Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret boating at Sukhna Lake by Panjab digital library.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
