Ebony Davila thumb

Ms. Ebony Davila is a Technical Career Field Program Human Resource Specialist Intern assigned to the VHA HealthCare Retention and Recruitment Team under preceptor Ms. Marisa Palkuti, Director VHA HealthCare Retention and Recruitment Office and Workforce Management and Consulting Office. Ms. Davila began the Technical Career Field program on 1 August 2011. Previously Ms. Davila was a Work/Life Specialist with the 374th Force Support Squadron Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC), Yokota Air Base, Japan. During her two years at the Yokota A&FRC she worked across all core programs, which included relocation assistance, personal financial readiness, employment assistance, volunteer placement, casualty assistance, Air Force aid, transition assistance, family life education, family readiness and information and referral. She served as the core compliance expert and was responsible for the Transition Assistance Program which educates separating and retiring military members of all branches of service from military installations throughout the Japanese Kanto plans IAW with DOD and Air Force Regulations. She scheduled and worked closely with Department of Veteran Affairs overseas military benefit coordinators, Inverness Technology contractors, and the Yokosuka Fleet & Family Support Center Transition Assistance Program manager. Ms. Davila also provided Personal Financial Readiness services to members of the Yokota community, to include onsite mandatory First Term Airman education, Family Readiness center based group setting briefings, and voluntary or supervisory directed individual counseling in accordance with Accredited Financial Planning certification standards (AFCPE), while mentoring Mrs. Nina Nichols a volunteer 2010 AFCPE fellowship recipient. Ms. Davila was the voice of the Airman & Family Readiness Center on Armed Forces News radio weekly, promoting programs and services for military families throughout the Kanto plains to take advantage of. She also worked closely with the 374th Air Wing/Public Affairs staff writing articles and providing the community with key visual information on the Commander’s Access Channel. Ms. Davila also served on the Yokota Air Base Emergency Management Exercise Evaluation Team (EET). Working closely with the Force Support Squadron team Chief to plan, coordinate, and evaluate Non Combatant Evacuation Operation emergency management exercises. Not to exclude participating in military personnel deployment processing line exercise commitments. Her additional duties include time keeping and automated data processing accountability. Ms. Davila is also a veteran of the United States Air Force and served honorably for eight years on active duty.
