Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.Iruka13 (talk) 19:51, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Hello. What does the group of three symbols in the lower right corner mean? --Iruka13 (talk) 17:49, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
- As it is my own work, I signed it.
- My given name is Angel and family name is Lee
- On the right, the old Kanji for Lee. On the left, the old Kanji for Angel: on top "heaven" and on bottom "ambassador": an angel is an ambassador of heaven.
- The three symbols mean "Angel Lee". By the way, Lee is the name of a tree, the Chinese plum (prunus salicina), which is translated "Sumomo" in Japanese. So, DocSumomo means DocLee, already taken
- My personal e-mail is dr_angel_lee@yahoo.de
- Nice to hear from you, Dr. Lee
- But don't you think that the image is overloaded with information? Iruka13 (talk) 08:49, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
- The image summarizes the old classification (with names hard to remember) and the new classification (with letters easy to remember). For reference, the other two arteries are just drawn, not labeled. It summarizes all you have to know in one figure. Making two figures, would only lead to some confusion
- I'm talking about "related information + your signature." This can be confusing. --Iruka13 (talk) 10:43, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
