A file that you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons from Flickr, File:The cutting of New Year's rice cakes.jpg, was found available on Flickr by an administrator or reviewer under the license Noncommercial (NC), No derivative works (ND), or All Rights Reserved (Copyright), which isn't compatible with Wikimedia Commons, per the licensing policy. The file has been deleted. Commons:Flickr files/Appeal for license change has information about sending the Flickr user an appeal asking for the license to be changed. Only Flickr images tagged as BY (CC BY), BY SA (CC BY-SA), CC0 (CC0) and PDM (PDM) are allowed on Wikimedia Commons. If the Flickr user has changed the license of the Flickr image, feel free to ask an administrator to restore the file, or start an undeletion request.

Uploading images from someone else

[edit]

Hi Dislaider,

On the internet, nobody knows who anyone is, and anyone can say anything. The information you gave for File:Crystallographic structures of Nb(η2-C2H2)(η6-C6H4F)2B(C6H4F)2 and (Ti(η6 -1,3,5-iPr3C6H3)2)((p-C6H4F)4).png and other uploads is that you got it from a third party and that you claim it is CC0. But only the original creator can make that release. Commons generally will not allow files that do not have direct evidence of a free license. That means either the original creator needs to upload it themself or the information needs to be routed through COM:VRT to validate a license release. Without evidence of the license, we will have to delete all those files. Please take care of this ASAP so we can keep the files. DMacks (talk) 12:48, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DMacks Diego Riccio is me as you can guess from my username. This user was simply helping me. So if you want to start the deletion procedure I will repeat that. there is no need IMHO for excessive formal passage here. i don't think we have time to engage in those, so if it is not enough, just delete them.--Diegoriccio98 (talk) 15:47, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Diegoriccio98: Thanks for clarifying the situation. Just so I can make sure it's clear for anyone else looking later, you are the actual creator of the files that Dislaider uploaded (identified with your name as the source), and you confirm the CC0 license tag? Assuming so, I think all the licensing/copyright policies are satisfied. DMacks (talk) 16:08, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
