Korean cash coins on Wikimedia Commons

[edit]

I'm afraid I am no expert on Korean coins. I could not add to the catalogue prepared by Wybrand op den Velde in "Cast Korean Coins and Charms" . I just did the Charms bit.

Thank you for your kind words about my books. There is a second edition of "Cast Chinese Coins" out now, though it is not greatly different from the first edition.

I have now started work on Chinese Charms , and the task seems to get bigger every day!

Best Wishes,

David

@Davidhartill: Please check out this list of Korean cash coins that are and aren’t available on Wikimedia Commons, if there are any errors or missing information 🛈 then feel free to improve the list. I am planning on creating a similar list for Chinese cash coins but it might take months to complete. I know that you’re a very busy man so this has absolutely no hurry.

By the way I'm a great fan of your work and I will probably base on the eventual list of Chinese cash coins “missing” from Wikimedia Commons on your 2005 book “Cast Chinese Coins”.

Alright, thank you for your reply David, unfortunately there are almost no images of Chinese charms on Wikimedia Commons at all, feel free to check out Category:Chinese numismatic charms and upload images of Chinese numismatic charms if you ever find the time, Baomi is busy writing an article about charms but can't ready seem to find any images and if you were to share your collection of Chinese charms (and other charms) with the world or just rubbings of them it would be much appreciated. --Donald Trung (Talk 💬) ("The Chinese Coin Troll" 👿) (Articles 📚) 11:48, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

8 Cash coin (Qing Dynasty)

[edit]

@Davidhartill: On this page from the John Ferguson collection (Sportstune.com) you added an image of a rare Qing Dynasty era cash coin of 8 wén, may I ask your permission to upload it here with the license here and as long as the people using this image share your book on Amazon? If you agree to this then I will use your comment as proof of consent, otherwise I will only upload the other images without yours, but as there are no other images of 8 Cash on Wikimedia Commons it would be a benefit. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 21:24, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
