Carte des noms des communes françaises en -ac

[edit]

Bonjour Damouns. Pourriez-vous mettre à jour File:Communes of France ending with -ac.svg avec les limites et les noms actuels des régions administratives françaises ? Mon niveau en Inkscape est totalement nul... Merci pour cette belle carte. Cordialement, Jack ma (talk) 05:38, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Salut !

Dear Wikimedian,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on UTC.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category

[edit]

When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:A Chart of the Seacoasts of England, Flandres & Holland to the Honourable Sr John Ashby Kt Admiral of the Blew - this is most Humbly Dedicated and Presented by Capt G. Collins - btv1b5973399p. ("C1" and "C2" come from Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion). Jmabel ! talk 05:34, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear: in this case, I found this and several others quite rapidly, but who knows what I might have missed; in other cases, categories blanked like this have languished for months before getting a clean delete. - Jmabel ! talk 05:37, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I remembered (believed?) that blanked-and-empty categories were automatically deleted, I understand that it is always the case except that it could take months. I haven't any idea if C2 or C1 is appropriate, let's go for C1. Damouns 09:20, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When the template is used with C1 I have to give a "correct name" for the category... so let's go for C2. Damouns 09:23, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
