This is not "Musée Annam"

[edit]

@EPIC: , excuse me for pinging you, but this user is not "Musée Annam", their English is significantly better, they live in Canada (if you would compare it to the IP's listed at steward request global, they were all Vietnamese IP's from FPT-Telecom), the block at the Vietnamese-language Wikipedia was from June 2023 and this user has a lot of different interests that don't overlap with the "Musée Annam" sock family.

They have been contributing to multiple Wikimedia Wiki's without issue for the entire time since their block at the Vietnamese-language Wikipedia, he is not a sock of the infamous "Musée Annam". The allegations all come from a small group of Vietnamese-language Wikipedia editors and has not been replicated elsewhere, nor did they ever investigate, they just saw a handful of similar interests (namely fictional flags used at festivals and blogs) and drew their own conclusions. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 18:59, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In this edit, a sock of "Musée Annam" even insulted this user, during the few interactions they had "Musée Annam" hated him like he hates anyone else who crosses his path. And that sock was CheckUsered and blocked here, so if he was a sock it would have been attested then. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 19:02, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I restored all your files. I indeed got confused by the global lock. Sorry. Yann (talk) 19:05, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yann This edit can be staged. Why are you taking the words of 1 editor over steward EPIC? I have over 10 years of interacting with Musée Annam and his socks. Nguyentrongphu (talk) 03:34, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@EPIC: So, are Daeva Trạc's IPs from Canada? Are they real IPs or proxy/VPN? Nguyentrongphu (talk) 03:43, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Did the steward "EPIC" confirm your accusations or take it at face value? "Musée Annam" has a very recognisable editing style and I've yet to see a "Musée Annam" sock that didn't add random (often non-sensical) categories (for example, the "Annam Digital Library"), Musée Annam's English is notoriously bad, meanwhile this user speaks fluent English, Musée Annam doesn't source his uploads and lists everything as "Own work", this user sources every upload and attributes original authors. This user uploaded fake flags to debunk them and included "fake" or similar words in the title, Musée Annam just claims that fake flags are real. This user hasn't insulted anyone, Musée Annam will immediately insult you the moment you correct any of his edits. This user even uploaded own work photographs in Canada during the same time recent Musée Annam socks were active with FPT-Telecom IP addresses from Hanoi or Haiphong. If this was somehow a Musée Annam sock this has got to be one of the most sophisticated socking he's ever pulled off while also being a good contributor to the English-language Wikipedia at the same time (something which Musée Annam has never pulled off, just compare the style of the articles both users contribute to). I'll add recent links below. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 06:16, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have proven nothing. Sock masters can pretend to be multiple people with distinct personalities. They can also operate 2-3 socks at the same time. I'm sorry, but you have absolutely 0 experience in dealing with socks. I have over 10 years of experience in catching many infamous sock masters. Nguyentrongphu (talk) 08:10, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User "Daeva Trạc" contributes using the "Articles for Creation" (AfC) method, Musée Annam (known locally at the English-language Wikipedia as "Unserefahne", German for "Our flag") never uses this method, nor does he ever source any of his articles (which I can't list because they all get deleted, often before he's discovered because they just tend to be so bad and incompetently written), and while this submission was declined, it is in fact a submission with a lot of sources, Musée Annam usually only lists some or none and most of his edits account to "I made it the fuck up". Also, why would I want to defend a person who told me to go fuck my own mother and claimed that I suffered from severe intellectual disabilities?! I hate Musée Annam as much as the next guy, but user "Daeva Trạc" is not a sock of him, similar interests don't immediately mean that they are the same person.

Whenever I point out a Musée Annam sock, the typical reaction is that he'll immediately start insulting me and trolling me, and if he's active on any wiki he'll immediately abandon the account after he's caught on one (1) Wikimedia website, so why would he continue using the same "sock" if he was already "caught" last year? Feel free to open a sockpuppet investigation on any other Wikimedia website and I'm sure that they won't find anything. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 06:26, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

More context, Musée Annam doesn't even like the flag edits made by user "Daeva Trạc", and the IP ranges of Musée Annam were globally blocked by user "EPIC" in July 2024, why would Musée Annam undo his own edits, call himself stupid, tell himself to go fuck his own mother, and then tell himself to contribute fake flags to Facebook? The account that attacked user "Daeva Trạc", very obviously is a Musée Annam sock and is another FPT-Telecom IP from Hanoi. There is literally zero (0) evidence that user "Daeva Trạc" is Musée Annam, they simply have some overlapping interests. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 07:27, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Note that I haven't opened a CheckUser request here because the last known Musée Annam sock account is over 3 (three) months old so they can't compare those and the CheckUsers here don't compare named accounts to IP addresses, maybe someone can open up an SPI at the English-language Wikipedia, but these users seem to be geographically distinct with one living in Eastern Canada and the other in Northern Viet-Nam. CheckUsers can also check what kind of IP was used (proxy or not) and the device and browser information, I'm sure that these will also be distinctive between them. — Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 07:37, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Musée Annam's IP are saved here. I'm going to wait for EPIC's reponse. Nguyentrongphu (talk) 08:11, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
To be safe I'll unlock the account for now. My justification for the lock was the SRG request combined with the block at viwiki.
If a CU could have an extra look and compare to the data of the previous accounts, that would be appreciated, although I want to note that the global block of the /32 range mentioned above is set to only affect anonymous users, meaning that it would not affect someone who already has an account. EPIC (talk) 09:23, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Has Musée Annam ever argued with himself before? I've been following him for years and this is not his type of behaviour. Plus, user "Daeva Trạc" criticises Musée Annam, we all know that he NEVER likes to admit that he's wrong about anything, did you even compare their behaviours? Have you ever seen a Musée Annam sock try to be a productive member of a Wikimedia website and take constructive criticism without lashing out? It's clear that both used "Daeva_Trạc" is younger and less childish than Musée Annam who is already in his 40's (as he admitted to being a member of Generation 8X). Have you even ever had a conversation with Musée Annam where he didn't start claiming that he's intellectual superior and then start spouting insults at you? User "Daeva_Trạc" has literally never done this. Plus, Musée Annam, despite editing here for like 15 (fifteen) or so years, is unable to add web-sources that aren't bare links, meanwhile user "Daeva_Trạc" has learned to properly insert sources. There really isn't much overlap in behaviour. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 10:06, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Bruh, I just woke up and someone already accused me shiz again?
A simple investigation could have solved all of this.
Alright @Donald Trung, what do I have to do? Daeva Trạc (talk) 10:26, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Now we wait. — Daeva Trạc (talk) 10:46, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately it was declined because you filled it in yourself. Maybe user "@Nguyentrongphu: " should file it if he thinks that there is evidence? Especially since you're the one who made the accusations both on the Vietnamese-language Wikipedia and on the Meta-Wiki. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 12:35, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You know what I hate most about this? Despite having fight that C guy many many times already,[1][2][3][4][5][6] those people still accused me as his sock, his puppet, his “2nd personality”. — Daeva Trạc (talk) 15:56, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Kind of makes you think how many other users have been permanently banned based on similar accusations, but you can literally verify your identity at a Wikimedia chapter office and they still won't believe you, once an accusation has been made the block is basically "irreversible". Literally nothing you say can convince them otherwise, you could literally stand next to Musée Annam (C) in real life at a public event and they'll call you a "meatpuppet" or something. The worst part is just how easy this accusation was accepted by others without proper investigation, an admin at the Wikimedia Commons just took the accusation at face value, later a steward took it at face value. Literally no amount of evidence could convince the accusers at the Vietnamese-language Wikipedia, even if a CheckUser finds you to be completely unrelated I wouldn't be surprised if they'd say "he's just using a VPN / proxy" or "it's just a duck 🦆, they don't need to be technically related". You've been a great contributor for all your time here and I genuinely believe that Wikimedia websites are a better place with your knowledge and passion. It's the fact that I'm currently busy with multiple lawsuits in real life (completely unrelated to anything Wikimedia or on-line) which run from 2023 likely to 2025~2026, if I had more free time I would've investigated more comparisons to present, but I doubt that you can convince a mind that has already been made up.
That aside, we know that Musée Annam doesn't speak English, he can only speak Vietnamese, Classical Chinese, and Russian, his English and Castilian (Spanish) are really bad.

chữ: …Gold was the original of happiness and bitterness in Annam about X-XIV centuries. When it was plentiful, so Annam became the largest slave market of Indochinese peninsula ; but when it becoming exhausted, the country retrograded quickly and was destroyed by Ming dynasty. Liam Kelley told about Vermont' sheeps to describe that situation. Gold made Annamese kings to pay Song dynasty expensivest tributes. By Trần Quang Đức's research, Song dynasty's officers usually complained the court that, many "unconscionable" brokers in Liangguang tricked Chinese ones to sell as slaves. Those "slaves" must toiled at Annamese gold-mines, even they was killed for the worship gods. Chinese mandarins also said, ducks at South border swam into Annam to look food, their dung had gold. Gold made Annamese people to sew it into clothes, emperor Lý Cao Tông had to forbid in 1182. However, in comparison with Sinophere's countries (even China), all of Annamese palaces, pagodas, houses, costumes... were at the most luxurious. By classical annals of Annam, king Lê Hoàn had asked to built his palace with gold-inlaid tiles and columns in 984…

His incompetence is laughable, you are improving with every edit. He is unwilling to learn, you tend to work well with other Wikimedians. It's actually very much an insult that people keep comparing you to him, especially since you're twice as mature as him at half his age (assuming both your ages). --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 16:29, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For extra context, most of the time Musée Annam socks are quickly banned for competence issues (CiR, standing for "competence is required") even before he is discovered, I genuinely don't get how someone can edit Wikimedia websites for 15 (fifteen) years and still not understand even the most basic things. This isn't dedication, this is a genuine mental illness (likely Narcissistic Personality Disorder, but I don't want to get into accusations), there is a difference between making a mistake because nobody has corrected you and explained how things work and making a mistake because you refuse to listen to anyone else without lashing out. The fact that you don't write a wall of insults after someone has given you advice is the easiest way to tell you apart from him. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 16:35, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Damn, a Vietnamese vandal. What a “legacy” our people have — Daeva Trạc (talk) 00:37, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He's Chinese (or "Taiwanese"), but he's obsessed with a Vietnamese human rights fighter. The way that the man was declared innocent and globally unlocked 🔓 is because there are multiple photographs of the sockmaster and the accused showed up to the headquarters of the local Wikimedia chapter in the Chinese Republic (Wikimedia Taiwan), an admin confirmed with her own eyes that she was someone else. There are actually photographs of Musée Annam at the Wikimedia Commons, I just can't remember the file names, but he's a normal-looking man with spectacles. Because he uploaded it himself (so a "self-dox"), user "Lệ Xuân" added a photograph of him to her personal long-term abuse documentation page of this lovely specimen of a human being. 🙃 The worst part about this drama is that the time people invest in dealing with these people could've been invested in improving Wikimedia websites and it can tire people out.
Unrelated to the above, but do you like watching SCP videos on YouTube like "Dr. Bob"? It's something I'd recommend to you as a nice form of relaxation while editing, I often listen to SCP explanations while doing other stuff. 😅 — Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 06:35, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Same. “Dr. Bob” and “the Rubber” are nice, I like their graphics. I also like to listen to “The Exploring Series” and “SCP Foundation Vietnam” as some kind of podcast. Their narrators’ voice could help ease your mind :) If you like animation, I would also recommend watching this one. It’s a comedy, pretty great when you want to rest from real life and Wikipedia.
Speaking of which, this page -Viet comics - is probably my best project so far. I spend God-know-how-long to improve it, changing from an unsourced article with bunches of red links to a more friendly one. I’m actually quite impressed that comics from Vietnam have gone that far, completely opposite to our what-the-heck cartoon industry (I also try to improve this, but upon seeing our latest animated work, I just gave up). — Daeva Trạc (talk) 11:12, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nice recommendations, yeah I also watch "The Rubber", but I haven't seen / listen to "SCP Foundation Vietnam" yet, to me it would be interesting if the Vietnamese branch used legacy documents in Classical Chinese and French from anomalies which they held for a longer period. Anyhow, regarding expanding articles like "Vietnamese animation", I always say "to document, not to serve" as I often write about things that I actively hate (namely the use of cash coins as "magical objects" and other superstitions), but at the end of the day Wikimedia is a hobby and if you're not having fun then it's not really a good hobby anymore. 😅 But it's still always good to document whatever you can in case some good animations pop up later, most of the animated cartoon shows that the Vietnamese have watched in their childhood were all from the Soviet Union like Hãy đợi đấy! (Ну, погоди!). Even the best Soviet animations pale in comparison to what the United States of America was making even 90 (ninety) years ago. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 12:22, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I only learned about the existence of Soviet cartoons from Youtube and my grandmother. My generation is more familiar with American ones (like “Tom and Jerry”). And for the SCP Vietnamese branch, people are actually working on it. Take this one for example[7] (haven’t been translated to English yet though). There are also some works that inspired from real historical documents[8]Daeva Trạc (talk) 12:36, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Daeva Trạc,

While I personally really love the information contained in this image, It's clearly a temporary work. Posters are only permissible if they fall under the threshold of originality (please see "COM:POSTER").

Furthermore, I'd advise you to read the page "Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Canada", specifically the section:

"Under Section 32.2 (1)(b) of the Canadian Copyright Act 1985, it is not an infringement of copyright for any person to reproduce, in a painting, drawing, engraving, photograph or cinematographic work … (i) an architectural work (defined as any building or structure or any model of a building or structure"); or

  • (ii) "a sculpture or work of artistic craftsmanship or a cast or model of a sculpture or work of artistic craftsmanship, that is permanently situated in a public place or building"."

Feel free to read the above pages and then review your past uploads. Of course, if you can find any evidence of it being freely licensed you can simply add the license. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 18:49, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Huh, I probably have to delete that then. I will recheck later. — Daeva Trạc (talk) 18:52, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(Edit conflict) In case of doubt, always nominate it through a regular deletion request (DR). Because others may have some insights that you don't, whenever I am doubtful if a work I'm uploading is or isn't above or below the threshold of originality I will nominate it for deletion both out of precaution and to get the input of people more knowledgeable about the legal intricacies of the specific case at hand. Feel free to ask me for tips whenever you want. 🙂 You can also consult the "COM:CANADA" page to see when the work should be undeleted, just because a work is gone now doesn't mean that it'll be gone forever. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 18:54, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Vietnamese SCP Wiki

[edit]

Oh yeah, I was already familiar with the Vietnamese SCP Wiki, but this link you shared with me is just an absolutely fantastic incorporation of my idea. Also, I like the fact that the seal they use (the Heirloom Seal of the Southern Realm) is the image which I commissioned at "Commons:Graphic Lab/Illustration workshop" (see "Commons:Graphic Lab/Illustration workshop/Archive/2021#Seals of the Nguyễn Lords and the Nguyễn Dynasty"), thanks to my research and the wonderful skills of user "Lệ Xuân" (麗春). This just shows how much influence we have at Wikimedia websites to make the internet a better place. 😊 --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 19:00, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well that's surprising. I also more surprised to know there's a whole "workshop" for the purpose of illustrating flag/emblem for Wikipedia (thought every user just did their project individually). Very appreciate for both of your hardwork! – Daeva Trạc (talk) 19:58, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's very useful if you have images and need someone with more technical skills to add a better image to use on Wikipedia. Many flags, several coats of arms, and basically all SVG seals of the Nguyễn Dynasty are among the things that I've requested. Though due to some issues IRL I unfortunately haven't found the time to write the accompanying articles. I am currently trying to teach myself how to make these images as well using tools like "Inkscape". I'd basically invite you to just be curious and click on every link you see to see what is behind there and sometimes you can find cool places like that. As you have amazing map making skills maybe you could help illustrate maps for others over at the page "Commons:Graphic Lab/Map workshop". 🙂🙂🙂 (And this is how you make a request there.) --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 15:08, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File:“Mi’kmaw History Month” (poster in Charlottetown, PEI).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Also, you can add these on your talk page to have an easy link to these discussions. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 15:08, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
