Notification about possible deletion

[edit]
Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

A bit of clarification. If you did not take a picture, then you cannot claim it as your own work. Uploading files without adequate permission from the owner is still a copyright violation, even if you give credit. I know you mean well, but unfortunately, we cannot always have the files we want. Hi there, the photos are the band's own publicity photos. Some are available to download from the Press kit on their website for promotional use and the website says "feel free to use". The one of Steve Wall in Co. Clare in 2021 was taken by me as I was in attendance at a recording session. And the one of Steve as Chet Baker was also taken by me on the set of the film. The photo by Glen Bollard is used by the band online for promotional purposes and the copyright is owned by the band, but free to use as their website states. https://thestunning.net/press-kit Craicmerchant (talk) 23:22, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the response. This information about the source websites, and any relevant links, should be listed on the discussion page here. The administrator who makes the decision of whether to delete will go based on the information presented there. In any case, apart from the photos you did take, you may not claim them as your own work. Take a look at Commons:Licensing for how to go about properly attributing the source of a picture. Proof of permission to use the pictures (such as a link to the source website) is needed on each file's page. TornadoLGS (talk) 01:37, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Craicmerchant, unfortunately, they released the images under CC BY-ND 4.0, which is not ok on Wikimedia Commons. Same for the other images above. Sorry, Andel (talk) 18:57, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will contact them again. What should their Creative Commons state? I know they are keen to have their relevant pages updated. Thanks. Craicmerchant (talk) 20:17, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The band have now changed the Creative Commons attribution on their website to CC BY-SA 4.0 Is this correct and can images now be added? https://thewalls.ie/press-kit
