Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which information may be missing. Thank you.

Why do you think, this horse may ne Champagne? In looking on the head, I think there are intermingled white hairs an therefore I would guess ist is a grey with dark chestnut or bay base color. The confirmed Champagne horses look very different I think. --Kersti (talk) 12:50, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- There are other photos of the same horse in the Flickr album, which has also been uploaded to Wiki: File:Tennessee Walking Horse6.jpg
- Note the hazel eyes and purplish-freckled rosy skin. There are no intermingled white hairs, just glare from the sun. Champagnes are often difficult to photograph due to their extra-reflective coat. The flat brownish-gray (taupe) coat color makes this horse a classic champagne. Another clue for me was that the mane and tail are distinctly chocolate brown, which is an uncommon color for horse manes and tails. Bay and black horses have stark black manes and tails, and when these sunbleach they reveal bright reddish, orangish, or yellowish tones. Chestnuts have manes and tails that are brightly red-toned, even if they are dark. This horse's mane is a rich, warm, flat brown. The "pointing" of classic champagnes is also common; that is, the legs are less diluted than the body. [1] Compare. The real give-aways are the skin and eyes. I thought this is not an Oldenbourg Horse, because in the Tags are mentioned the following breeds: KWPN, Oldenburg, Thoroughbred, Tennessee - It can't belong to all of them. --Kersti (talk) 00:45, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- The saddle pad on this horse has the Oldenburg brand on it. Countercanter (talk) 12:15, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]I am now proud owner of a TUSC account!
If I look here I read that the only draft breed that Les Haras nationaux have are Perechons. Why do you think, the horse on the Photo is a Boulonnais? --Kersti (talk) 00:00, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for catching that, I haven't the faintest idea why I made such a silly mistake. Countercanter (talk) 18:49, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Countercanter. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Countercanter~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
