Deleted image
[edit]Hi! Image:Cheearcher.jpg, uploaded by you, was deleted as it was a copyright violation. I discovered that it was not your own work, as stated, but talen from http://www.seahorsearts.co.uk/lee-style-tai-chi.php . Please, carefully read the instructions in Commons:Licensing and do not upload any other images with false licenses and author attribution. Thank you! →Spiritia 16:01, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for notifying me about the image. On a daily basis I have to deal with cases like yours and I assure you that in 99% my judgment is correct. As a human being, I am not insured against mistakes, yet, as an administrator I take extra care to reduce their number to a healthy minimum. You may try to analyze what part of the fault is your own, and I can immediately tell you: statements of ownership in case of images being published on third-party media, are not enough, as anyone may claim affiliation to these media. Such statements have to be verifiable and leave no doubt in any reader or downstream user.
- You may consider to justify your statement by (1) sending a permission in a private email to the OTRS team from an official email address, affiliated with the mentioned website, or (2) add on the website a publicly available and verifiable copyright statement that the image in question is released under the indicated free licenses. I do hope that you are well aware that freely licensed images can be used for any, incl. commercial purposes and can be modified and freely distributed under the terms of the license. I do hope that you well understand the consequences and you are happy with them. I am obliged to repeat them to you and help you take an informed decision, as free licensing definitely means withdrawal from some of the copyrights, which you have so carefully kept to yourself on the mentioned website by explicitly putting the (c) symbol.
- You may also consider uploading a new copy of the image of higher resolution and quality, I suppose that you have or can easily produce such. But of course, this one will do, as long as it's really free. All the best, →Spiritia 22:22, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

File:Michio kushi.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)
