Re: Is "Image:Flag of XXX.svg" series completed?
[edit]Q: Is "Image:Flag of XXX.svg" series completed? "Image:XXX flag 300.png" series covers most of countries. If you want to remove redundant flags, why don't you wait until all flags (including some sub-nations, such as England, ...). We can migrate in one round! -- ChongDae 15:51, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
- Even if it's not completed, redundancy doesn't mean automatic deletion (at least I think so :-), just mean that SVG version should be preferred to PNG. It's necessary to mark existing PNGs as redundant sometime, I prefer to do when I notice that new images arrive. --EugeneZelenko 16:00, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
Chinese characters
[edit]Yes, modern means ¨simplified¨. Are you north korean ? So, you say than (in addition of en:Hangul), north korean people use traditional characters (the old ones) when they write chinese characters. Please to confirm this in my talk page. Yug (talk) 13:14, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- Ok, thank for this new, in one hour this image should be updated :] Yug (talk) 15:38, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Uploading images to the Commons
[edit]I recently stumbled onto some of your images uploaded to the Commons and neither of them was available via categories or articles. Please always add images/media to categories and/or articles. This prevents double-uploads of the same file with different names and these images/files may be usable by other users. Thank you. --Denniss 09:28, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your message. The version you reverted to has neither a source or a license tag and will have to be deleted unless it is provided. Thuresson 11:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Image deletion warning | Image:Form of government.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |
This is not a flag of China, stupid. It is the flag of an oppressed nation. –68.224.117.152 06:10, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT (talk) 05:43, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
