Hello, you deleted this file as per ticket:2024100110006311, according to Commons:Deletion requests/File:SaintThomasCross.svg, and it has now been reuploaded as File:Saint Thomas Cross.svg. Just wanted to ask if the reasons for deletion of the original file would apply to the new name as well. Jonteemil (talk) 17:41, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Jonteemil No, the deletion was a recent uploader request. In looking at the differences I believe that the uploader used the wrong license originally and didn't know that they could just edit the file and change the license.
- Okay, thanks.Jonteemil (talk) 18:21, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

Gal Gadot photo by Tal Abudi
[edit]Hi, I noticed you deleted the photo I uploaded due to copyright, which is understandable, but it’s not really accurate because I got permission from the photographer. So, I’m not sure what the problem is. Lililolol (talk) 18:21, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Lililolol The copyright holder needs to send in a permission statement to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. Please see this link for more information. If the permission is accepted by the VRT team the image will be undeleted.

Gay Valimont Image Provided to Publication by Gay Valimont
[edit]By your own reference, the article has the caption that the image was provided by Gay Valimont. It is therefore property of the subject and not the publication. The image should not be deleted: https://www.nwfdailynews.com/story/news/politics/2024/10/31/meet-gay-valimont-the-democrat-challenging-gop-firebrand-matt-gaetz/75918143007/ Starlighsky (talk) 17:36, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Starlighsky If Gay Vailmont is the copyright holder, then she needs to send in a permission statement to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. The person who actually took the photograph is normally the copyright holder not the subject of the photo, unless there is some contact/agreement with the photographer that transfers the copyright. You can find details on the requirements for sending a permission statement at the link below:

- Thanks Starlighsky (talk) 17:52, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- The image was deleted. Do have the link for the deletion? That way, they can reference that link. Starlighsky (talk) 17:54, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

- If the permission is accepted by the VRT team, the image will be undeleted. No need to upload it again. Captain-tucker (talk) 18:07, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- I understand.
- I found the file: File:Gay Valimont candidacy photo.jpg Starlighsky (talk) 18:34, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Can the Immediate Deletion be contested?
- I was editing the article about the subject, and the image really helps the article. Starlighsky (talk) 18:39, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Undeletion requests can be filed at the link below, but as you are not the copyright holder they will most likely tell you to have to copyright holder follow the process that I provided earlier to send in a permission to the VRT team, this is stated in the Appealing a Deletion secton:
- @Commons:Undeletion requests Captain-tucker (talk) 19:40, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- If the permission is accepted by the VRT team, the image will be undeleted. No need to upload it again. Captain-tucker (talk) 18:07, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- The image was deleted. Do have the link for the deletion? That way, they can reference that link. Starlighsky (talk) 17:54, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks Starlighsky (talk) 17:52, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for reviewing this file.
Could you please review the ticket? I note that the license requires photographer attribution, but no attribution is provided. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 22:14, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
- The copyright holder specifically requested that his name not be listed in the author field. Captain-tucker (talk) 11:52, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
