OTRS to Rießbeck

Bryan, thanks for adding the OTRS permission to the Eistage painting of Rießbeck. How can i confirm this permission? Hannes Grobe 15:13, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Delta Goodrem image

I have sent multiple emails to OTRS with the confirmation of this image. If you can confirm it for me, that would be great. I'd hate to have to email the guy again because I don't want to bother him, and he's already licensed this image over flickr.

Here's a screenshot of the man on flickr giving permission (ignore the first paragraph. That was my text from a previous message he did not delete.) http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/3939/sheltonmullerlu5.gif This is the entire correspondence. http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/6092/mullercollagecompressedob5.jpg

Thank you.

mwclient error

Hi! I am trying to use the mwclient python library which I believe you have written. Strange thing is I am unable to connect. I have tried all versions (trunk, 0.4 and 0.5.0), they get different errors but none work. My Wiki is MediaWiki 1.11. The wiki is closed to all users who are not registered, I don't know if that is the problem or not. Using trunk I had no problem accessing 'commons.wikipedia.org' so the problem seem to lie with my wiki. Any help is appreciated. I can disclose my e-mail address if needed. /Hannes

Hi Hannes. Yes, that may cause problems. Also there are some problems with the 0.5 version. I plan a major rewrite the coming weeks, so I will see whether I can fix them. Could you give me the errors that the 0.5.0 version produce? -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:15, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
This is what site = mwclient.Site(myhost, path=mypath) gives me.
Traceback (most recent call last):
 File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
File "mwclient/client.py", line 57, in __init__
   meta = self.api('query', meta = 'siteinfo', siprop = 'general|namespaces')
File "mwclient/client.py", line 103, in api
   info['error']['info'])
mwclient.errors.APIError: (u'unknown_action', u"Unrecognised value for parameter 'action'"
If you have any questions regarding the wiki you can contact me at kigurai@gmail.com as I'd prefer to not disclose too much information publicly.
Short update: I have basically rewritten large parts into mwclient 0.6. This version should be compatible with MediaWiki 1.11 or above. I have to implement few lists and some misc functions. I hope I get to testing and releasing before the end of next week. -- Bryan (talk to me) 14:35, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Have you even looked for an email yet or you just so hot on the push button for delete that you like to piss people off. --Mihsfbstadium 06:12, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

you know you should check with the uploader before just going outside the system and deleting images. it really makes people pissed off. You may be a volunteer but I am also a volunteer and dont like to have to fight people every day. And another thing when I give out the email addy that was coming through as it would nice to at least check for it when first read it. It gets fustrating when I see you doing edits but not even lift a single finger to help me out. its not like I was asking you to contact the person and do this and that. If you want to help out commons just ask people when they have items in OTRS pending. You may save yourself some greif and you know what people might actually find you likable. --Mihsfbstadium 20:01, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

DR Bot

Well, first: my experiments to get CURRENTDAY etc. subst'ed didn't work. It appears this only really works if the top-level template is subst'ed, not transcluded. Second, what's up with DRBot closing requests multiple times? Lupo 11:38, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Fixed, was a problem with the transition to a new version of my framework. -- Bryan (talk to me) 19:25, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
And DRBot should probably escape all {{ and }} in deletion summaries. See this deletion and this closed deletion request. Lupo 11:42, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
And probably it shouldn't do anything for deletion requests that already start with "{{delh}}" and end with "{{delf}}"... Lupo 11:44, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

how to obtain flickr page from static.flickr.com address

Hi Bryan

I have noticed that your bot is able to obtain the original flickr page if the only information it has is the "farm?.static.flickr.com" image url (like this image). I didn't know this was possible. Is there any script available to do this operation?

disambiguations at de.wp

Hey Bryan, in the last months we have reduced the number of articles a lot. Would be helpful if you can set down the limit to 70 links at a disambiguation (now 100), so that we have more work :) Thanks! --Aktionsheld 22:06, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Poster/Logo Policy - Berlinale

The poster you deleted was correctly licensed and rationalized. The posters or logos used by three Film Festival articles: Cannes, Toronto, San Sebastian are equivalent to the one removed. It seems there are no differences between the Berlinale image and the mentioned other ones. I assume you are not able to reinstall the deleted image. That´s why I intend to reinstall it myself. I´m open to suggestions for a suitable tagging. Sashandre 22:15, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Replacer stuk

Hoi Bryan. Groet, Siebrand 12:54, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Albania?

Hi. I noticed you had created {{PD-Albania-exempt}}. I have an image, a symbol of the en:Albanian Party of Labour on the cover of a book, published in Tirana, 1981, no copyright mark whatsover. Hi, you suppressed File:Logo ifc.JPG, which is an Iraqi party logo, and that I was just currently using to prepare an article on french wikipedia [[2]]. cdh: one object/edit?

[3] Cdh takes one object for replacement per edit. Is that what you indended to do? This means that processing capacity has decreased to 60 objects/hour with the current settings and that edit conflicts are more likely to appear. Siebrand 11:45, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes. The replacing stuff is still not working entirely as it should and until it has been fixed it should run at a lower rate. (There is a setting in user-config.py for it). -- Bryan (talk to me) 20:28, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

svg replacements using Commons delinker

Since it looks like toolserver is up and running I guess it's time for a reminder about User_talk:Siebrand/Archive11#CommonsDelinker_and_svg_replacements. The russian maps should wait until 1st of March but User:Lokal Profil/hitlists/Vector-images.com can be done at any point. I posted a reminder on Siebrands talk page but due to heavy traffic it seems to have been missed. /Lokal_Profil 22:27, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm afraid CommonsDelinker is still not working entirely as it should. It appears to have some problems with certain pages, which I have to fix first before doing large numbers of replacements. -- Bryan (talk to me) 20:26, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
OK, that explains it. If you can give me a shout when the prolems are fixed then I would be greatfull. The Russian maps become valid on Saturday by the way. Also although some of the images on the Vector-images.com list have been deleted all usages of them don't seem to have been replaced. /Lokal_Profil 00:24, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
